Going through first drop.

We got a bunch of detour signs (in German) and couldn't find any signs to places on the map, or any towns on the map that we came to. I resorted to navigating by the Sun by putting my finger on the dashboard and seeing which way the shadow went.

It was all complicated by winding roads that started in one direction and then took off in a different one. After some hours with our map and our towns never having an agreement on a name we arrived at a sign saying straight ahead for the place we were heading. My wife's remarks about "are you sure that we aren't going to end up in Switzerland?" stopped and I had a great story to tell.

Earlier this week I returned to one of my most favorite places in the world, the abandoned Titan 2B Missile Base. Even though this was my third trip here, I am always blown away by the sheer size and power that makes up the base. Hard to believe that this was once a bustling underground city, housing three nuclear missiles that were ready to be launched at a moments notice.

When adventuring on a network of un-mapped trails, and often not being able to see prominent landmarks, sometimes you gotta resort to unconventional decision making techniques. We went left.

Oh poor Kirby. It took him forever to get anywhere.

...though that was partially due to attention, too.
