Second-growth deciduous forest, Johnsonburg Swamp Preserve, Warren County. Much of this forest, now fairly mature, was once farmland.
The Nature Conservancy owns and manages the preserve.

This is one of several vistas along the red-blazed Donut Hole Trail as it follows a pipeline swath along a narrow ridge.
It might look like I ran off to Canada, but this is the Shaver's Fork of the Cheat River, in the highlands of Randolph County, West Virginia. On the bank to the left is The Nature Conservancy's Shaver's Fork Preserve, which has a really nice trail through the floodplain woods.
I saw two forms of red-flowered Pitcher Plants in the Green Swamp, and I feel certain that this one is Purple Pitcher Plant (Sarracenia purpurea). Unlike the other red-flowered form I saw, in this one the petals (beneath the sepals) are dark colored and pinched near the top.

The Gray Fox is the only member of the dog family that can climb trees, usually to seek refuge or in search of roosting birds. It can reach a speed of 28 mph for short distances and has lived for up to 10 years in captivity; longevity in the wild is probably much shorter.
Although primarily nocturnal, the Gray Fox may sometimes be seen foraging during the day as in this image, seeking primarily small mammals.

Sometimes minor errors pile up.
In this case, I forgot to fill my car with gas the night before, I forgot to correct the moonset time for the eleveation of the surrounding hills and I decided to shower in the morning (waking up at 3 am is hard to do).
Together with slower than expected travel on the historic US 30 from Mosier to Rowena Crest meant that I arrived too late for my planned shot of the full moon setting on Rowena Crest.
Instead I arrived just in time to snap the last rays of the setting full moon. I missed by a mere few minutes.
Best viewed against the black night sky.
At Low tide, the water surges into the tide pools and crevices in the limestone formations, nothing like the spectacular splashes that gives Blowing Rocks it's name.
Blowing Rocks is a Nature Conservancy Preserve on Jupiter Island, Martin Co. Florida.
