This fence separates a farm from the nature preserve. I have spent many hours removing abandoned barbed wire fences from preserves in this area.

From the Pontotoc Ridge Nature Preserve 2013 butterfly census. While the fields were full of a variety of wildflowers, most specimens were feeding actively on the native purple coneflowers. Too bad they wouldn't pose nicely on only the prettiest blooms.
Got to hike with good friends, my wonderful mother and my 22-month old son at the beautiful Falls Ridge Preserve in Ellett Valley, Virginia.

Strange lighting seen from the Bear Mountain Lodge in Silver City, NM. It is odd because the view is of the eastern horizon, but it is in the early evening (the camera time was two hours off). It seems that the angles of the sun rays should be wider nearer the ground, since they emanate from a single point (the sun) on the opposite side of the sky. I have no explanation for this. Maybe that's part of what is meant by "The Land of Enchantment."
