Good advice for the New Year?

Taken on a walk in my neighborhood. I took quite a few which will be infiltrating my photostream in the coming days...

This is one of the most common butterflies around our property in Montell, Uvalde County, Texas. Easy to spot with the brilliant orange upper wings, shiny silver spots with brown markings below. They are also more prone to perching calmly with wings open so a photographer has a chance at getting a good shot.

I think this might be a female or immature rufous hummingbird but not sure. It was taking advantage of the zinnia nectar on a hot and dry summer day. July 2018 in Montell, Uvalde County, Texas

A large orange sulphur (tentative ID) and a lyside sulphur vying for space on the same small zinnia. In Montell, Uvalde County Texas.

One of the few times I actually got a shot of a sulphur with the wings open. It seems they always rest with wings folded so I have to try and capture a flight shot.

I believe this small skipper butterfly is called Eufala skipper. It was one of the many species enjoying the zinnias in my mother's garden during July 2018.
