Naruko is famous for the hot spring and the canyon.
Especially we can enjoy the beautiful autumn scenery at the canyon.
When I arrived at the parking area, a light drizzle was falling.
After I had some shots, I decided to come back home.
At that moment , the sky cleared up and it broke into sunshine.
And the vivid autumn cliff apeared just before my eyes.
I introduce some photos.

Katanuma lake is the small volcano lake in Naruko Miyagi.
Because the water is acid, no fishes live here.
I enjoyed the new green leaves together with my wife.

But there was almost empty when I visited in June.
The COVID-19 stopped the tourists from comming.
鳴子峡谷は紅葉で知られています。
そして夏は豊かな緑を楽しむことができます。
しかし、6月に行ったとき、ほとんど人影がありませんでした。
コロナウイルスの故に観光客が来ないのでしょう。

【鳴子峽】是由大谷川溪流貫穿峽谷切割、深約3,000公尺的大V字形斷崖峽谷。鳴子峽佈滿了奇岩怪石和陡峭懸崖，沿著河川設有2.5公里的健行步道，是日本著名的賞楓景點。
到鳴子峽需搭乘奧之細道JR陸羽東線，該路線是最有名氣的紅葉鐵路。
鳴子峽附近的鳴子溫泉鄉，是鳴子溫泉、東鳴子溫泉、中山平溫泉，鬼首溫泉、川渡溫泉5個溫泉的總稱。一般而言，日本天然溫泉最多可以擁有11種功效，而鳴子溫泉就具備9種功效，因此鳴子溫泉鄉自1,000年前就以溫泉療養效果聞名。除此之外，鳴子溫泉鄉也是特產「小木偶人」的著名產地。

One of the best spot to see autumn color in Japan where is located in Miyagi prefecture is Naruko gorge. From Ofukazawa bridge, train is running among autumn color can be seen.
Event: Super Yosakoi, Tokyo, Japan, 27-28 August 2011
Yosakoi started some decades ago with the purpose of revitalizing the struggling post war economy of Japan. This year's Super Yosakoi in Tokyo is aimed to help the tsunami hit areas. Participants are dressed in colorful outfits and struts the streets of Harajuku and Omotesando to the rhythm of their naruko, a clapper (as seen in the photo) which was traditionally used to scare the birds off their crop fields. Hundreds of groups from different localities and prefectures participated and each group is mostly composed of 30 (maybe, just my estimate) and more members.
Shishi-odoshi (鹿威し lit. means "scaredeer" or "scareboar" in Japanese?). In a wide sense, it refers to Japanese devices made to scare away birds and beasts damaging agriculture, such as the kakashi (scarecrow), naruko (clappers) and sōzu (see below). In a narrower sense, it is synonymous with sōzu.
Sōzu is a type of water fountain used in Japanese gardens. It consists of a segmented tube, usually of bamboo, pivoted to one side of its balance point. At rest, its heavier end is down and resting against a rock. A trickle of water into the upper end of the tube accumulates and eventually moves the tube's centre of gravity past the pivot, causing the tube to rotate and dump out the water. The heavier end then falls back against the rock, making a sharp sound, and the cycle repeats. This noise is intended to startle any herbivores such as deer or boars which may be grazing on the plants in the garden. (Wikipedia)
