In 1966 the Negro Association for Progress (NAP) was organized by a group of African American students at the University of Texas to push for more civil rights for minorities at the University. In 1967 NAP focused on the lack of black students in university athletic programs. Here a student NAP member holds up a sign outside a UT football game.
