Halley and her Mom enjoying an afternoon nap yesterday. Seemed like as good a time as any to test out the new Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II.
Taken at 1/20 seconds, f/2.8, ISO 1000, 100mm., on the Canon 6D.
I went over in the middle of the day to try and get some bird photos - but they were mostly having their midday naps, so were quite hard to find.

This is the nominate race form of the White-naped honeyeater - the Western Australian race chloropsis was recently split from this species and is now Gilbert's honeyeater (a better name than some of the original suggestions). I am feeling lucky to have seen both birds recently since the split, even though I had seen them before. The split makes sense to me as there is a big gap in their distribution across the country and this one has a red eye-crescent, while the Gilbert's has a pale greenish crescent.
No. 114 in my Birds of Australia set.

Fred takes a nap. Fred can sleep in just about any uncomfortable position, a skill he must have found immensely useful when making alpine bivouacs.
This little guy got tired of playing and found a nice spot to take a nap.
Thank you for taking a moment out of your day to view my photo!! I appreciate your views, comments, awards and favs :) Have a wonderful day!!
I figured I'd try a self portrait for once! Pretty much every day after work for the past week, I've been taking a nap. Something tells me I need to improve my sleep schedule a little bit.
I also tried using Lightroom again tonight. I'd used it previously, but my needed to up the RAM in my computer for it to work properly. Now I've got 8gb and it works like a champ. Utilizes my multi-monitor setup pretty nice too!

Not completely napping, every so often the eye popped open to check on me. This is one of the semi tame birds at Reifel Bird Sanctuary where it and a number of mallards were hanging out waiting for someone with a bag of food.
It's very unusual to find Evelyn asleep somewhere during the day; she has mostly outgrown her nap stage. She has not outgrown her Magic School Bus stage, however, and the two collided one fine day as I was making dinner. After seeing Evelyn in this state, I found Julia down in her bed, sucking her thumb and pretending to sleep. She was inspired.
Bonkers taking what looks like a very deep nap next to a window at our old house in California in September of 2010.
Not quite blue/green, not quite white, but a mixed 'race' peafowl having a nap in the late afternoon.
The term peafowl can refer to the two species of bird in the genus Pavo of the pheasant family, Phasianidae. Peafowl are best known for the male's extravagant tail, which it displays as part of courtship. The male is called a peacock, the female a peahen.
As forest birds they nest on the ground however though th Pavo peafowl are terrestrial feeders that roost in trees.
