Laurel was so tired at naptime she was having trouble falling asleep in her own room, so Kevin told her she could lie on the bed in the master bedroom while he took a nap. I thought it was sweet that they wound up cuddling in their sleep.

This is the nominate race form of the White-naped honeyeater - the Western Australian race chloropsis was recently split from this species and is now Gilbert's honeyeater (a better name than some of the original suggestions). I am feeling lucky to have seen both birds recently since the split, even though I had seen them before. The split makes sense to me as there is a big gap in their distribution across the country and this one has a red eye-crescent, while the Gilbert's has a pale greenish crescent.

After bouncing around the house for hours, Piper tried to climb over the pillow to get to her napping spot, but ran out of gas. This was captured with my daughter's cell phone, (it was the best camera available at the time) and I processed it on the iPad with Snapseed. If you have an iPad, you must have Snapseed, it's awesome!
I had such an amazing day yesterday! We spent the day over at my wife's parents house, were we had a family gathering. Played lots of Holy Boards & Beer Sticks, ate way to much food, maybe drank a little too much beer, and just enjoyed hanging out with everyone in the beautiful weather. Once we all headed back inside it was time for a little nap with my nephew. (I think I slept more then he did)
For the day that was supposed to be the end of the world, I would say it turned out pretty sweet ;-)
