Nanaimo a major coal port in the mid 1800's to mid 1900's.......now past history. When walking along the shores of Protection, New Castle & Gabriola Island, one will still find lumps of coal. A lump of coal is lucky - according to "Scottish Folklore"....or so I have been told.

A rendering depicting the townhome 'clusters' at The Ridge. Rather than building rows upon rows of uniform looking townhomes, the townhomes at The Ridge will be built in clusters of 2 or 3. This will maximize privacy for residents and make the community look more attractive.
