頭烏線是台灣特有亞種，棲息於平地次生林，至海拔2000公尺之間的闊葉林及草叢之中。一般喜歡於濃密樹林底層、蔓藤及雜草不見光的底層間活動。褐色嬌小的身軀則是一流的保護色，頭上有兩道明顯烏黑的眉線，所以稱為【頭烏線】。非繁殖期常三五成群聚集，性羞澀隱密，極不易觀察，非常活躍跳個不停。常可在山區林蔭處聽聞到「是誰打破氣球」之重覆嘹亮鳴聲。

Govetts Leap was named after William Govett, one of the first surveyors of the upper Blue Mountains, in 1831. A horse and rider monument in the park beside the Great Western Highway at Blackheath village tells the story about Govetts Leap.
There is a dramatic legend that tells of an escaped convict - turned bushranger named Govett who, pursued by troopers, found himself trapped on the edge of a 300 metre cliff. Preferring death to capture, he wheeled his horse around and together they leapt over the edge.
To dispel the legend, Govetts Leap wasn't named because he jumped off the cliff at this point. The Scots Dialect Dictionary compiled by Alexander Warrack MA describes a 'leap' as a 'small cataract' - a cataract is a waterfall. Therefore Govetts Leap actually refers not to the lookout, but to the falls in Govetts Leap Brook, often known as Bridal Veil Falls.

生態與分佈 Ecology:
鳳頭蒼鷹為台灣特有亞種屬第二級保育類。會停棲在視野開闊的隱密樹枝靜候獵物出現並予以突擊，或在空中追捕。大抵分布於中、低海拔山區。性極兇猛，除捕食蛙類、蜥蜴、小型鳥類外，有時亦捕食較大型的鳥，是家禽粉鳥之剋星，故有粉鳥鷹之稱，亦作打鳥鷹。
鳳頭蒼鷹更是可以生活於都會區公園，默默地定居在城市的聚落中，通常單獨生活，僅繁殖期成雙出現，營巢於濃密的高樹上。

PROPLLER FOULED BY FISHING NETS.
Norvaag, en route from Shoreham to Falmouth with a cargo of 2,000 tons of split stones and eight crew members on board, got its propeller fouled by fishing nets in position 50 05 36 N, 005 02 07 W at around 1 a.m. on 7th. October 2022.
The nets of the fishing vessel Pelagic Marksman had snagged the propeller while Norvaag was at anchor. While the nets could be retrieved, the crew were unable to make full assessment, and the vessels owner arranged for a inspection by divers to ensure the propeller was clear before proceeding. The vessel retrieved its anchor after this was done, and it arrived in Falmouth at 8.30 a.m. on 8th. October.

Once enraged, it is hard for him to control, so it's possible he may hit teammates. Also, he becomes quite angry, hence the rage portion. When disarmed, he likes to ram into people with his horns.

I only know Michaels! I believe I'm closer to that Hierarchy, by temperament.

Furtherly: I superlike the fact that the Archangels are present in all the monotheistic religions, so, in their path, we can all feel a lil together, independently from anyone own Creed! Wow, this is a true plus!
In my photo: modern wooden hand sculpted and hand painted statue of St. Michael the Archangel (Middle XX Ct), ancient Parrosh Church, Loreo, Italy.
Nikon Cool Pix33, my lil magic one, no in-camera effects (my Cool Pix sees almost as my eyes) Light/colour adjustment as low indoor-lighting, slight oval semi-transparent smoky frame overlapped as a foreground layer. Noise on the face gives intensity but looses clarity; what I like of this photo is the strange gradient of a golden light at the apex, deeming from upwards to the lower part of the sculpture. Framing allowed me to isolate the statue from the closeness of frescoes with other subjects and to delicatelly accompany and caress the sinous line of the chains.
My shooting position: laying on church floor, untill the Parrosh arrived to meet me and see what I was doing on the floor. So, I didn't have many attempts for this particular angle, just one or two. I have much better & focused shots from other perspectives but this it the one I may prefer.
I will never be tired to photograph this and other Saint Michael statues and paintings. Almost every year I come back to see this statue and I find it positioned in other places in the church. The last time was 2 years ago and the inner light had been much improved to allow me to take better shots. Michaels Angels have always a very potent appearance, a carismatic glaze which is a powerful statement.
I had the opportunity to take some interesting photos to a St. Michael marble statue this summer, near the medieval castle of Copertino (Lecce, Italy) and in the year 2016 in Belgique at the wooden statue of Saint Michel in Bruxelles, Concathédrale Saints Michel-et-Gudule. That statue almost animated in front of my camera. I and my friend could both take some very phenomenal photos with two different cameras and the peculiar effect was there in both cameras. We never shared those pics, we are still a lil scared. I would need an expert in detecting paranormal activity and in validating the absence of any edits to our photos. So I am keeping them pristine, raw until I find an expert willing to "read" them.
I think maybe two experts would be needed: an image detective and a mystic... Complicated but I keep on the hope.

On the 17th July 2023 the 'Baltic Frost' (2006, 37,100DWT) is seen in Falmouth Bay after arrival from Bilbao. As can be seen the vessel is being renamed 'Baltic Ice'.

My mother, father, and I decided to take a trip over to Somerset County, Pennsylvania. I can remember being 7 years old and hearing about the harrowing evils committed on that now infamous date. What I did not know about until much later was the act of heroism carried out on United Airlines Flight 93. When I first learned that there was a memorial to them by picking up a pamphlet that I saw in my cousin's car, I wanted to visit. The weather on the day of our visit was exactly the same as it was on the day of the attack. When I arrived I immediately got a somber feeling as I was told that the path I was walking on marked the flight path of the enormous aircraft that flew over the nearby town of Shanksville. From up on the hill just outside the visitor center the path could be seen down near the treeline where there was a wall. From a distance it looked like a single, solid entity. Up close I saw that it was a wall with many panels. Each panel had the name of a passenger or crew member on United 93. We will never forget their act of immeasurable courage that day to save others.
