"I sit in the vast world and I ponder life and it's purpose. I sit in the seat of my soul and I ask her for direction. I let her guide me, even when I am dizzy from all the twists and turns. I find it wise to listen to her as my guide above all else. The voice of the soul is equivalent to my intuition. I sense that God whispers to my soul where I must go, and what I must do. I listen now. Perhaps we must all not listen to that inner voice to learn our lessons. What would be a human experience without our life lessons? The soul way is not always easy. The soul way, doesn't always give you immediate results. Quite often it doesn't. The soul way, is the way that lasts though. The soul way offers sustainable peace. The soul way is the way I choose. "

A recent trip to Sauvie Island concluded with the chasing of the day's last light at the edge of a pumpkin field where I found my shadow lurking in the grass. I know that technically it is always there, following me endlessly around on my travels, whether it wants to or not. Sometimes I notice its companionship, sometimes I know I don't but yet it remains right there. I turned around in this field, surveying the light, looking for any last moments of the day to photograph, and there it was stretching out in the grass. Was it in repose? In waiting? Bored? Anticipatory? I have no idea. I never do. But it did hold still long enough for me to make a photo of it in that light. Within a minute or two, the sun had dipped those crucial extra couple of degrees and my shadow, though still there in some sense, had nonetheless dissipated, immersing itself unto invisibility in the greater pool of shadow that stretched across the island.

Happy Furry Friday Everyone!
After a stormy day yesterday, just me and my shadow Roxie are soaking up a little sunshine. She is my constant companion, hard to get a shot of her, as she rarely lets me get more than a few feet away.....I would pity the fool that would ever try to aproach me....She is no doubt the best dog I have ever had.

/that sound has been on heavy rotation for the past three months.
I feel like I'm always posting photos with my face cropped. They're usually just accidents that I end up liking for one reason or another. HMAM :)

Evening sun on traffic cones.
When it comes to managing vehicle and foot traffic around construction sites a supply of traffic safety cones comes in handy.
These drum cones channelize East Broadway at Kingsway westbound vehicle lanes during construction of the Main Street Skytrain subway station.
Orange cones indicate no immediate danger surrounding a work zone but do represent potential for bodily harm.
