Library of Intentions: books I would like to read

private designed library with Venetian carnival masks

Books I buy, books I read, Books I intend to read, all in my "Library of Intentions"

This hefty tome is by an American Academic. It is richly illustrated and it offers a minutia of genealogical and social history information surrounding J.B. Yeats' family: a very rich tapestry against the background of political changes in Ireland.

During the solar eclipse, we looked at the shadows and spaces under the trees. The sunlight filtering through the leaves cast these amazing crescent sun shapes.

Children use props to recreate a moment when the moon passes between the sun and the earth.

Coffee filters are used to make an eclipse. The corona and stars are made with white crayon on black construction paper. Children created a model of the earth's orbit around the sun, and the moon's orbit around the earth. The model is manipulated to show what is happening during a solar eclipse.

This was a birthday present from a friend who's a cook. Great reference for cooking. Don't think I'll ever master half the stuff in here...but it's worth the try!

Library of Intentions

Books I bought: some left for later reading, some perused, or breathlessly read in one go, others coming back to, in order to relive the delight of the text.

Travel books - only one guidebook on Romania - hardly surprising the Romanian cultural authorities have not yet woken up how to promote tourism intelligently... Services are still poor and expensive, roads full of potholes, people sullen

Children created a paper eclipse craft using coffee filters. They also received free ISO-compliant safe solar eclipse viewing glasses.

Coloring helps children develop motor and hand writing skills. Eye hand coordination is improved, as well as color recognition. Children have fun creating their own unique picture.

The contents of my bag sitting on my handmade Kantha cloth bag from India...includes my car fob, keychains with two keys to both houses, a gold 'G', a silver fork handle, mylibrary card, sunglasses, my mask, Bailey's Rabies tag, a beaded ornament for key chain, Burts Bees lip balm, a Pitt F pen, my Lamy fountain pen, and my hand stitched leather wallet. I used Ecoline markers and a fineliner pen. Prompt from #CharsArtClass

some quotations by Francis BACON:

Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested.

If you can talk about it, why paint it?

All colours will agree in the dark.

It's always hopeless to talk about painting – one never does anything but talk around it.

I believe in deeply ordered chaos

Age will not be defied.
