VictorinoxSwissTool Black! NEW!This is a knife review of the best multitool from Victorinox. It's the Victorinox SwissTool BS. It's the latest and greatest Mega Monster Multitool! This is the Swisstool black. This version has a serrated knife instead of scissors. The SwissTool employs only outside-opening toolblades, allowing us to quickly access them without opening the pliers. This arrangement also makes for a more comfortable feel to the hand when using the pliers. The design of the pliers has changed through the years. The nose is finer than before and has more grip.
The SwissTool has individual backsprings. I love it when all the tools have a lock. The tools come out individually and i like it! They don’t clump like the tools of a Leatherman for example.
I'd been looking at Dremel multi-tools a while ago (for making pebble jewellery); I spotted a good deal this week, so treated myself to one, and it arrived today. I think it looks happy (or worried?) to be here!
Dan the gardener turned up today, along with a couple of others, and they made a really good start on taking down our front fence and clearing the flower bed ready for our new hedge. (We have a huuuuge hedge behind the shrubs at the front - the plan is to grow a slimmer one out front, then eventually remove the huge one once that has grown up high enough - it will win us loads of space back in our front garden.) Dan and co are aiming to save some of the shrubs from the front - we've bought a load of tubs and compost, and they'll come back soon to transfer them to the pots.
Trying to figure out for sure what this one is.
UPDATE: Thanks to bren10man at Multitool.org, I now know that this is a pre-1991 Deluxe Tinker. see here.
I had to tighten the headset, so I had to undo and tighten these bolts, but the Allen key moved down. I used a Park Tool multitool, the tool was not worn, so this is not the tool's or my fault.

The main blade stops closing when the tip hits the metal divider. As a result, the blade, about 1 mm away from the tip, dulls more quickly, and the metal divider is slightly scratched. This is an inelegant solution to stopping the main blade, which many/most/all manufacturers have solved by placing a stop rivet that the non-sharpened "hinge area" (where "Wenger" is stamped on the metal blade) hits to prevent the blade from "bottoming out" and hitting the inside of the handle.

Here are the tools for the task at hand. A kitty litter container for pieces of glass, a BFH (the B is big the H is hammer), 3 pairs of diagonal cutters, a plastic container for screws and small ferrous parts, a large screwdriver with wire to ground out the tube, a phillips screwdriver, flathead screwdriver, awl, multitool.

Very unusual and very hard to find.
I don't have a dremel...can I properly AoE my airsoft gun with these (multitool file and emery boards)? Will the emery boards make an acceptable substitute to sandpaper? If yes, what grit? Or do they differ?
This was my first new pocketknife that my parent's bought me when I was 7 or 8. I used to take it on all my adventures.
Somewhere along the line it got superglue on one scale, which warped and popped off. I found it a few years ago, and then a couple of weeks ago, I was reading the SAK forums on Multitool.org and found a place to get replacement parts...so I decided to do a bit of restoration.
