Our company has actively participated in the fight against Corona. Of course, we developed our hygiene concept based on the recommendations of the German Federal Ministry of Health and the RKI.
However, it was clear at an early stage that we also wanted to use our expertise in manufacturing and logistics to make a contribution:
We developed the following activities in the individual areas:
Converting plant: nonwovens on contract.
At the Converting plant in Durmersheim, large quantities of meltblown nonwovens as well as staple nonwovens are converted according to the specifications of the new masking manufacturers. In some cases, multilayer structures are cut and made available to customers. Nonwovens are further processed by all major manufacturers. In the course of increasing demand, the machine inventory was increased by two slitter rewinders.
Flexibles plant: face visors, 3D printing and valves
At the Flexibles plant, a face visor was developed as part of a research project and also led to the corresponding certification. For many other manufacturers of visors, we die-cut the actual films and assisted with the appropriate certifications.
In the 3D printing department, we printed up to 500 face visor mounts per day and completed and shipped them with the foils and cut rubber strands punched in the die cutting department.
For manufacturers of masks, we delivered valves assembled. Here we sourced injection molded parts and die-cut the valve diaphragms ourselves.
Composites plant: Partition walls
The Composites plant focused on the production of partition walls made of transparent plastics for the retail trade, schools and the catering industry. Many standard variants have been delivered, but we have also produced many special designs.
