Our first run in 1981. MTM's 328 leads a colorful consist at the New Brighton Stockyard Days. This event came about because I got a call from the New Brighton Chamber of Commerce who said they had 3,000 hot dogs left over from the Stockyard Days celebration of 1980 and were looking for an attraction to boost attendance so they could get rid of them. I told him we'd be glad to show up and it was quite a successful weekend.
It's incredible how many people were involved at every level of MTM that make this happen.
My favorite car was the Rock Island commuter coach which at the time was not quite finished in that we didn't have the windows put back in. It was such a great railfan car, we left the windows out as long as we could (an FRA violation).
The Triple Combine was beautifully restored and was quite an attraction as well.
There is also Chuck Wiesner's car and I believe the 1096 or 1097.
The Gritty Palace" brings up the rear.
The Dan Patch is in the background along with our baggage/tool car in which Bob Renz made pancakes for all the crew that morning.
There are about 20 stories I could recount surrounding this event but there just isn't space.
An older type farm in decent shape. Slowly becoming a rare item around here.

I just realised that I haven't yet posted one single picture of this impressive saloon!
Some facts about this car:
730 hp
0-100 km/h (0-62mph) in 3,6s
Vmax 350 km/h
This must be the coolest car on earth to bring your kids to school with!
Monaco Top Marques 2011
I’ve been meaning to set aside some time to try putting some jointed limbs onto my ITBE body cuz it uses the Poppy Parker sculpt and my Cate head looks better on that neck sculpt than any Barbie body.
I was going to use the Asian MTM body cuz it matched the torso well, but I couldn’t find any I could tear apart so I just used the pink shirt MTM body.
I boiled both of the dolls’ arms then pried them off the plastic shoulder joints and did a basic straight swap. The MTM arms fit perfectly on the ITBE torso but the MTM shoulder posts are too wide to fit the ITBE arms.
I cut off the rubber legs and left the internal skeleton bits on the hips. I was going to just swap the legs but the ITBE hips are far too tiny to accommodate the hips so I just snapped both torso joints and glued the ITBE torso onto the MTM lower half.
It’s not perfect but hey I don’t need to spend $$$ trying to get my Cate Blanchett head an expensive IT body lol.
