A drive up Mt Lemmon located on the northern outskirts of Tucson, AZ was neat experience. The road while a bit curvey was paved and had lots of pull-outs to view the numerous vistas. At the top was a ski area with a neat little restaurant with great "hot" chili.
Every once and a while I get the urge to do something crazy. Today was the day! I moved into my new house almost a year ago and have always wanted to do this but I was just waiting on the right day with clouds, snow, sunlight and just the right mood. I got what I hoped for this morning.
This is a 13 shot panorama of the view of the Catalina Mountains from the roof of my house. I used my 70-200mm Canon lens and set it to 130mm, manual focus and exposure on a tripod and fired away.
Once I merged all 13 RAW files in Photoshop I had a 3GB image! My poor computer took over 45 minutes to stitch them together and process it. But the result was spectacular! The original file is over 40,000 pixels wide! I've uploaded a modest 7,500 pixel wide image for all of you and I encourage you to view the "original size" on here to see the detail and the drama. Sorry for the watermark but I hope you all understand it's purpose.
Glad I finally got to do this and I'm glad my poor computer stood up to the challenge.
