Huge enlargement and panoramic crop from a 35mm negative. Big grain but somehow it suits the image.
This is a darkroom print, Siena toned.

Fresh print and I certainly think that printers, too, will die, but while alive they have a couple of extra lives per exposure.

Until I came across this forgotten slide, I would have sworn that none of Conrail’s MT4 or MT6 slugs ever locked knuckles with an Alco road switcher of the type from which they were rebuilt. Here is proof that I was mistaken, as former PC RS11 7652 stands with the remains of former PC RSD12 6857 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
IIRC this freshly outshopped MT-4 slug, cut down from an RS11, was photographed at Croxton Yard. The slug was eventually sold to the Winchester and Western. GP10 7574 ended up on the OHCR. Both units were built for the PRR.

Conrail in Cornell Red – Almost eight months after the northeastern railroad scene has undergone its most dramatic transformation, many of the local activities continue on as usual. Here Lehigh Valley RS11 7640 and “hammerhead” RS3 211 lead a Lehigh Valley caboose and a cut of cars westbound through South Bethlehem. The train, most likely the Florence Local, is diverging from the original LV main to cross the Lehigh River and head to Allentown yard. The 7640 was later rebuilt as Conrail MT4 slug 1023, while the 211 was re-engined with an EMD prime mover and survives, repainted as LV 211, at the Rochester & Genesee Valley Museum.

Der zu tonende Print sollte etwas heller sein, weil die Schattendichten bei der Tonung zulegen.
The print should be somewhat brighter before toning because the shadow density will increase.

Officine Specializzate Costruzione Automobili, or OSCA, was established in Bologna, Italy, by Bindo, Ernesto, and Ettore Maserati in 1947, when they left the company that bore their name. Over the next two decades, the Maserati brothers produced, in extremely limited numbers, an astonishing variety of sports racing, grand touring, and formula cars, all characterized by technically advanced engineering and jewel-like attention to detail.
This 1954 OSCA MT4-2AD, 974 YUF, was seen at the Classic Motor Hub
