Mt. Rysy is 2503 meter tall and requires a full day to hike to and from the mountain. To me it symbolizes my journey to learn the Polish language as well as a rite of passage to be able to call myself a Polish American. It required me to rely on myself for my first trip outside of the city I was studying in. Those three days taught me more than just Polish.
