Mt Shishapangma was the last 8000m mountain to be climbed. Near the Nepalese border in Tibet it is a spectacular place.

Some of the higher valleys on the Mulanje massif are covered in a thick herbal moorlands. The scent is fragrant like a chef's spice rack.

This image came from a 33 year old 35mm Kodak negative shot from a Yashica ELECTRO 35CC, scanned by an HP Scanjet 5470c and restored by multiple Photoshop operations.

A superb looking little bee fly up on Mt. Shasta. Just a taste of what's to come. :)

This summer I have been to some amazing places to star watch. For this hike, I scoured cloud data, hoping we'd be hiking above the clouds. Weather changes, as it will, and we ended up hiking in the clouds... the peek-a-boo views of the mountain were ethereal.

This was one of my favorite nights! Sharing the hike and views with good friends was spectacular. We got to chat up a park specialist who was staying at the lookout as well.

Close-up of George Washington at Mt. Rushmore. What a great job done on depicting these great founders of the U.S. ( And that the sculptor is from Idaho) Thomas Jefferson's partial face is in the background.

Lakes Of The Clouds Hut

I have been printing a lot of my work lately and favoring the larger images. This 44 x 88 inch photo of Mt Whitney is like being there! The size of the mountains is truly lifelike, as I saw it while standing at Lower Boy Scout Lake.

A short weekend getaway to Mt Hood with Jack and the girls.

The view from the summit. This was on day 2 of the Kepler Track.

On our camping trip to Mt Rainier, my buddy and I got up at 5:15am in order to get to Reflection Lakes in time for sunrise.

When we first showed up, the lake was completely socked in by clouds and we considered bailing. The fog coming off the water was enough to warrant staying a little bit.

When arrived in the second parking lot, we noticed a lot of cars. Apparently there was a photography class going on, so we took our place on the edge of the class, slightly away from everyone. Ended up meeting another flickr user (you should check out his shot here pdxsafariguy).

The clouds cleared for about 20 minutes, just as the sun was rising, and then quickly closed back up leaving the view totally obstructed. It was a beautiful sunrise, and we were lucky enough that the elements aligned to take a couple shots.
