Seen in Stevenage garage in November 1977. The unpopular MS class was already in decline at this time and LN replacements from Hatfield had started to arrive. Only 3 out of 7 were still on the road and MS2 had the honour of being the last one in use when withdrawn a year after this photo. All 7 were eventually scrapped.
Whistling Willie was a Perth eccentric who was renowned for his obsession with the Glovers' Michaelmas dinner. Whenever he was asked, he could immediately answer how many days there were until the next dinner. Willie was an eleemosynary of the wealthy Glover Incorporation of Perth, [ie one who received its charity], and as that meant he was invited to the annual feast it might explain his obsession .
But he was also concerned about getting a wife. Willie saw himself as a 'lion' who needed a 'lioness' to wed, preferably a Glover's daughter. Wandering the streets of Perth, he would give out a great 'lion's roar', in the hope of attracting a spouse. He never did.
Willie was apparently treated fairly well by the citizens of Perth and was rarely teased. He died of apoplexy in 1883.

Back Story .............................
Lets start with the easy part and then we'll get into the substance of the photos.
Up before dawn getting all the stuff ready, camera gear and dog food.
There was quite a chill in the air but I was well prepared for it .The last couple of months Thailand has experienced some very cool nights. 63 people have died in the last 2 months due to the unusually cold nights !
Arrived without having any unwanted adventures on the way out to the jungle temple.
MS2 and LBB were more then eager to gobble up all the goodies that lay before them, milk was the first to disappear..;-)
Gathered Leroys, Tuff Guy and GF's food bags and took off on foot to my next destination.The bright yellow building with the big drum under roof is said destination, uploaded yesterday I believe ?
Tuff Guy an GF intercepted me half way, their bag came out of it's hiding spot inside my shirt. Remember, if the monkeys see the bag it makes for a very unpleasant situation !!!
They got busy with their breakfast as I headed on over to feed Leroy. Let out a whistle and Leroy came flying in to our meeting spot next to the drum.From there we both wandered over to shoot the wild monkeys on the statues in a cave.Monkeys are everywhere but as you can see I like shooting them in one general area.
Anyway all is going fine, feeding and monkey shooting is done, now I'll just head back over to see MS2 and Little Baby Betty before heading home.

There's one spot that can be a bit fun at times and this happens to be one of those times.
The area is maybe 70-80 meters before MS2's Palace. Dry arid like with a dozen trees spread out with large rocks at the base of the trees. On occasions I've been ambushed here. Monkeys like to hangout in the trees an intimidate each other , or who ever is convenient. !
Midway I see a bunch of tails hanging through the leaves, plus some movement has given them away.
Didn't take long an the Alpha Male is spotted lurking near the base of the tree looking straight at Me !
Knowing the backup team is waiting in front of the old rusty gate which is the entry to the Palace I let out a fast an loud whistle. Must of sounded urgent cuz MS2 and LBB appeared with in seconds...Instantly Mama-san 2 positioned herself between the monkey and myself.
The following photos in this series show the monkey diving over MS2 while grabbing the hair on the top of her head.
LBB an I came scooting up the right side so when the monkey landed he kept right on running.
No harm came to MS2, or the monkey for that matter.. But, FYI: Leroy has 2 big monkey fang holes in his side !
Thinking of changing his name back to Mr Stupid ! ...... ;-)

Back Story ..............

Mr Brown, MS2 & LBB... Taken a couple weeks ago and is being used to relay Mamas current health conditions .
You can easily see Mama holding her paw in the air.This is just before she went to the hospital.
.
OK, now that the "hospital" has been mentioned here goes.
Within the last hour No# 1 wife, MS2 and I returned from the hospital.
Mamas foot was cleaned, re-wrapped and injections were administered on schedule.
.
Mr Doctor said her wound is healing up fine, looks good, in his opinion paw is at 80% healed.
She is to report back to him on Friday for a repeat on cleaning, wrapping and injections.
It is Tuesday night March 4th right now here in Thailand.

On Friday I'll have a much better idea on which way to take this.
If she's not 100% then she stays here until she is. As soon as that happens she can go back home.
You can read it in her eyes, "please take me home". She knows this had to be in order to save her
life but she still misses Little Betty & Mr Brown ...;-)
