Friends of the Earth is campaigning for the Government’s new Energy Bill - being debated in Parliament now - to be beefed up. That means a nationwide refurb to make sure no one lives in a cold home and more support for councils to cut CO2.
Missouri Pacific Railroad SD50 5029 at Cotter, Arkansas on July 17, 1986, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 5029 was the trailing unit on a coal train destined for a power plant in Newport, Arkansas. I'm not sure of the details, but this train arrived two days earlier and parked in Cotter. Not wishing to walk a mile to get to the Cotter depot, the crew cut off their train and ran around it, parking the power next to the caboose.
