Illustrating the HUGE task of moving out...lol.

After a long, sweaty night of packing up my Alphabet City apartment, I decided to sneak up to the roof to cool off and catch one last glimpse of the awesome view before moving out later that day.

[11/365] It's not every day that you see refrigeration units being hoisted onto the back of a lorry. Sadder still, it was only a few years ago that the (now closed) Peckham's used to be a toy shop with decades of history and wonderful displays.

My sprog is back on her feet and independent once more after her surgery, so it's time she moved on. This weekend, she's been packing up her belongings in preparation for her move to a new town. I'm going to miss her, but she needs to make her own way in the world after a rocky false start last year...

After two and a half years and approximately 15 different housemates passing through its doors, a much-loved house share in Clapham is to come to an end. A party was organised to see it off in fitting style.

This is Hallie's "Anchor" . Hallie was quite capable of jumping any fence without it, but with it attached to her collar she was prevented from doing so. It consists of two dog leads knotted together - one end is attached to a pot plant base, and the other to a spring clip. The clip would attach it to the collar, and the base would act as an obstruction. The original version had a steering wheel cover over the rim of the base to prevent damage to furniture and feet. Other versions had a swivel joint at the base, so that the leads wouldn't twist around.

After I moved out of my first apartment in the 1989, I did not have any photos to remember it by. To make up for this I drew this freehand pen sketch before the memories faded. I drew the apartment as it looked the day I left. It looks forlorn and deserted. The apartment was in Astoria, Queens, on Newtown Avenue.
