We went to see Movin' Out at the Palace Theater up in Cleveland last night. We weren't allowed to take pictures of the performance, but I took a few of the beautiful theater and all the people there for the show. It was *so* good!

we first learned how to make photograms in photography class, not develop actual photos. This is one half of the comfortable/uncomfortable photogram project we did. I chose the topic of marriage and divorce.
This photogram "divorce" is the uncomfortable photogram. It is supposed to represent someone taking off their wedding ring and moving out, leaving their copy of the house key behind.
When I came home, the movers had come and gone. This used to be Sara's room, post affair. She's living in an apartment closer to downtown.
Even though she hurt me more than I've ever known, I feel more than a little empty today.
X doesn't understand why she's not here. And when he goes to her place Friday after day care, I don't think it's going to be any easier for her. After I told X he'd be spending Friday and the weekend and Monday with Mama, he said "But I want you to be there too."
In about an hour, I'll start thinking about feeding the cat her evening snack. Of course, she's not here anymore, either.
I wish we could have stopped this. I wish I'd known how to stop this. But she wasn't interested in reconcilliation, and after a while, neither was I.
I thought we'd turn out better than this. We both came from broken families, and we never wanted to put any children we had through the same thing we went through.
Yet, here we are.
I should probably take a photo of the tears streaming down my face right now, listening to X sing himself to sleep in his bedroom.
But some things are still too much to share.
After a long, sweaty night of packing up my Alphabet City apartment, I decided to sneak up to the roof to cool off and catch one last glimpse of the awesome view before moving out later that day.

As we say goodbye to what has been our home for the past 2+ years, it's amazing to see all of the shit that we've been hiding in the nooks and crannies of the house. And what you see is only one flat's worth! We still have a long way to go...
