With enough horsepower to move the Earth this Commodore lays a patch.
What has become an annual event that just keeps on keeping on, is the Auto fest Spring car Nats held in Shepparton. Here is a link to the event organisers page, autofest.com.au/.
The event has been going for over 30 years, and for many there is no better way to spend the weekend than with like-minded people, as the entrants burn rubber with an excess of horsepower, that is thankfully quite obscene : )
There was and is everything from the go to woe, handling events, drifting, and of cause burn outs! Burnouts bouncing of the rev limiting, literally hitting the redline burnouts. How much rubber do they burn, enough so I can smell it from my house nearly a mile away : ) PS the smoke signals might be cultural appropriation, so some one should bring along a Pontiac and make it officially ok : P
Jack Danniels www.jackdaniels.com/en-au has a bar, so Tennessee is represented, although in the main part, not much American iron turns up at the event in comparison to the Australian contingent and Japanese cars.
V8s are the flavour, although you might be surprised like I was this year to see a Honda S2000 turn up, a pleasant inclusion, with one of the all-time great 4 bangers in it.
Black snot is a thing, that is if you can handle the close quarters action! You might like to take some year plugs, even then for about mile you will still be able to hear the cars at it.
As a car enthusiast I enjoy the day, friendly people getting their thing on, and having a great time.
PS. Make sure you drink lots of water, and keep hydrated!
This van is around the Exchange District quite a bit and has had a few different murals and such painted on the side. This is the latest version. Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

I shot and edited this at my Glasgow workshop in Scotland last week. I will post a blog about my travels lately, so I won't go into a ton of detail here....but lets just say my new dream is to move to Scotland. I am in London now and have been for 3 days. Tomorrow I begin a teaching stretch of 3 days of workshops, and then I head back to the states on Monday. It is amazing how I have been traveling for a full month almost and while I am itching to be back home with my love, I am also wishing I had just a bit more time to see new things. Ah, wanderlust :-)

Just for the fun, I have playing around with overlays and stuff. I had this picture of this rural road in the morning sun, but I needed some traffic :))
This Western Sandpiper approaches the muddy shore at Homer during high tide as it frenetically searches for the next morsel of food.

A long shot across the beach as the sun sinks below the rock groyne , I like the moving water in the foreground.

Just west of Blue Mountain Drive and the hotbox detector at MP 22.6, the westbound Zephyr is having no issues moving along at track speed in the continually-falling snow. Without question, passengers aboard the Zephyr are going to have a better experience on the trip west today compared to folks driving in the high country on I-70!

Made this image to announce that Im' probably going to fall silent in a few days..Moving out so things will get busy and Wifi will go down for a week..So sadly i can not view your work , comment or cheer..But after the first week of july I will be all on Flickr again!
Just like on the image is fantasy not helping me to move. A curious fairy that has more attention for the laptop then the boxes..A dragon that prefers to set them on fire and little goblins that just sit , poke , giggle...No..No fantasy would not help me but however..it did give me a nice picture and pushed little items in that i've used in time until now. Including the two images on the background..Hope you all enjoy and hope to be soon back (once i lose wifi ;p)

One summer evening I was having a very challenging time, intensely battling the long-term, ongoing mental health struggles I face each moment of each day. I felt like I couldn’t do anything and also felt like I couldn’t do nothing. Somehow I pushed myself to go outside at sunset. I just started walking down our gravel road in an effort to try to stay somewhat active and try to cope. I had the idea to experiment with ICM (intentional camera movement) by using a slow shutter speed to capture the motion as I was walking. I can’t really put it into words how this was helpful for me. Though the images are very abstract, to me they’re beautiful because they show that I was standing and moving forward even when it felt impossible and I had no idea how I would survive. After I used this method one evening I also naturally repeated the process a few other nights within the next couple weeks as a way to try to help myself cope and survive.
Moving Forward is a collection of abstract, ICM (intentional camera movement) images taken in moments of desperation, while trying to survive and find a healthy way to cope with the intense effects of trauma, CPTSD, anxiety and depression. The practice of therapeutic photography and healing actions of taking steps and moving forward come together in this photo project. May it be a source of hope, inspiration, peace or encouragement for you.
