Hi There!
Many of you have asked how I'm doing since my foot surgery. I saw the surgeon yesterday, so now have a little news. First, I want to thank my Flickr friends for your support! Your kind comments, notes and prayers have helped enormously! I am still housebound, but have been given permission to try and start bending my forefoot and toes (now impossible) and when the swelling goes down enough, to start to wear my own shoes and boots again! That'll be a nice change from the brace I currently wear. I can walk carefully around my home, but it will be some time before I am out and about as usual. Most importantly, I am moving forward!
Thank you all again a thousand times over!

In a migrant workers' neighbourhood in Hefei, the capital of China's Anhui province. In such neighbourhoods, moving rarely means improvement. Most of the time, the residents and their dwellings have to make way for some kind of construction project.

Just a photo I took a few months back on a photowalk downtown Boston. Standing on a bridge ontop of a busy expressway is always a good opportunity for a light trails photo. Being a city kid and growing up in a busy city, most of the times I am conveyed to "click" when I see an appealing urban scene and what can't be considered more appealing and urban-like than a busy boulevard full of fast moving cars?
