I woke up this morning, turned to look at the clock at my bedside, and found my nose just inches from a furry little friend, who was snoozing on my night table.

I think he came into the house (the lake house, not my apartment) when I brought a load of firewood in from the garage.

He ran around all night; he woke me up several times with the racket he was making. And I guess, tired out, he decided that bedding down near a sleeping human and sleeping dog was as good and cozy a place as any.

This is blurry, btw, because it was really quite dim in the room, and I didn't want to wake him with the flash.

I humanely captured him and released him outside, shortly after taking this snapshot.

Mouse caught in the beam of a torch! ... or something.

Snooted flash accidentally fired at 1/1 power instead of 1/128.

This little mouse was in my room for weeks. I tried to catch it for the past week and yesterday I finally caught it! Yeah!

Met this Deer Mouse on the trail this morning. He seemed cold and sluggish, allowing me to get extremely close to take a dozen pictures. With the flash it was overexposed and without it was too dark so I experimented with holding my finger over the flash.

Nemo turns 9 months today, and to celebrate I turner her into her favorite character - Mini Mouse.. well of course she doesn't really look too much like her, so what the heck - here's Nimi Mouse!

I decided to try using up sock yarn scraps by making a mouse cat toy. I made up the pattern as I went. Its not perfect, but the cat just ate it anyway.

Fuzz dropped the mouse and it ran into the crack between the pocket door and the wall.

The mouse let me pet it. It didn't want to move!

One of many to come down the pipe...all done on blue cardstock and white Souffle pen. I spent some time drawing things around the living room with one continuous line.

Mouse when he was just a little guy...maybe eight weeks old at this point.

Now a museum for the town. Falling apart inside - but home to at least one Mini Mouse balloon.

After we rescued Mouse from the wall, we put a bell on her.

She quickly found a comfy spot on the stairs, in the sun through the skylight. This is still her favourite spot, over a year later.

Attempting to feed with a pipette proved rather awkward, so we swiftly went back to using an eye dropper.

This is Mouse, a 1 year old female Terrier mix. Mouse is the sweetest little ham sandwich. At 3, she's a petite cuddle-bug who loves to be close to her human. Her life's goal is to be right by your side, your wingwoman, your #1 BFF. She cannot get enough of you, delicious, wonderful, fascinating human! That said, Mouse crates very well and is okay when it's time for you to go to work, especially if you give her a yummy little treat. She's very treat-motivated, and she loves praise, so it would be easy to train and teach her new tricks. Mouse is just popping with energy and excitement, but she settles down pretty quickly. She loves Nylabones and flavored chewies. But, most of all, she loves YOU. And it's really, really hard to resist her sweet, pleading eyes... begging for one more little snuggle.

I volunteered at PAWS Atlanta. I took photos of some of the dogs and cats that need homes. I thought I'd also remind people you can find great pets at shelters and in rescue groups. And of course, help control the pet population, please spay and neuter your pets!!
