I think that this is Mount Graham, which is by Safford, AZ. Notice the importance of elevation, as the lower mountains have no so but at the top of the mountain it is snowcapped

The bluest skies and greenest pines!

I saw many of these rocks on the ground that looked like quartz to me (please correct me if I'm wrong), and we saw these little black beetles everywhere! Even as we drove home, we saw several in the car, and we shooed them out the windows. They didn't bother us, though.
