Brutal weather out in the Peak District this morning. High winds, sleet, snow and limited visibility. I lasted about 3 hrs before I headed for home. However, this type of weather is no problem for mountain hares.

"The tiny Mountain Chickadee is a busy presence overhead in the dry evergreen forests of the mountainous West. Often the nucleus in mixed flocks of small birds, Mountain Chickadees flit through high branches, hang upside down to pluck insects or seeds from cones, and give their scolding chick-a-dee call seemingly to anyone who will listen."
This valley drowned in rocks as huge as houses looong time ago.
The story is that a troll named Tor came to a wedding and drunk all their beer.
They said he wasn't welcome and he went off, really pissed.
Up to the mountains he went and used his hammer and smashed the mountainside and off came the huge rocks.
It was indeed an amazing sight.

Interstate 70, Genesee, Colorado. Note the small group of bison resting on the right about halfway up the frame.
Mountain lays her skirts to nurture not one but all. Mountain is sad. She cries silently at night, wondering when we will grow up. She is sad that we have abandoned her and enslaved ourselves to man-made gods.
