I still remember the power of the tears. Water essential for life. How many wars will we fight for it?

Mountain views as scenic as this are rare. I think some how the portrait orientation and framing works well in this photo by Cagatay Orhan.

From this view the depth of the image is emphasised however, some part of me wants to see another vertical photo to the right of the picture. Heck why not take one on the left of this frame too and stictch all 3 frames together, that'd be swell!

This one was remixed by attempting to cut some of the original haze in the image, tweaked some of the local adjustments and completed a colour enhancement. Its facinating that from a distance mountains have this bluish tinge to them, even though when you're standing on them you don't see this blue.

Photo to download and use as always :)

East of the Desert View Watchtower in Grand Canyon NP sits what appears to be a lone mesa, darker than its surroundings due to vegetation. My research indicates that it's an extinct cinder cone called Cedar Mountain.

On this early April day, the low cloud cover made the mountain appear even darker and highlighted the contrast between the vegetation above the canyon rim, and the nearly barren rock walls. There is an off-road trail, and the ability to hike to the top of Cedar Mountain. It's roughly 2000' of elevation gain and a nice hike with very few other tourists taking the time to visit this location.

I think I will check it out more thoroughly on my next trip to the Grand Canyon.

I took this shot during a hike in the mountains of Glarus, Switzerland. We were on our way back when I crossed this bridge and saw this beautiful view. The slowly setting sun was bathing the landscape in a play of colors, light and shadow.

This is my last post for a while. I will be hiking in the Dolomites, Italy and hope to be back with some nice images! I'll catch up with you all when I'm back!

A section of the Absaroka range NE of Dunraven Pass. Yellowstone is well known and loved for it's geysers, canyon, waterfalls, thermal wonders, lakes and wildlife. It contains many stunning mountain vistas as well.

There are at least 70 named mountain peaks over 8,000 feet (2,400 m) in Yellowstone in four mountain ranges: Gallatin, Red, Washburn and Absaroka. 46 of the 70 over 12,000 feet are in the Absaroka range. The Absaroka range forms most of the eastern border of Yellowstone Park.

I drove out to Buller Pond last night... This was the fifth day in a row I drove out there so I hope no one is sick of the place yet :P haha.

For all the time I spend out that way, this was the first time I have gone there at night. It was so still and quiet out there. It was a great way to spend the night.

Another mountain range from Alaska, this one is in Glacier Bay.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYBODY!

One from Saturday in the mountains taken with the 70-200mm. Summits on display starting with the closest in the shadows: Sron na Creise, Stob na Doire with a little light hitting the top, Stob na Broige basking in full light and Bidean nam Bian looming in the murk, centre frame, away in the distance. I think I've got that right!
