I drove a few hundred miles around yesterday with my buddy instead of watching super bowl. We found a few mountain quails, Spotted Owls, Northern Pygmy Owls, Western Screech owls and Saw-whet owls. I will post more pictures...

Not sure but think these are probably mountain ash berries. If not the ID would be appreciated.

Amtrak's westbound Shenandoah has just departed the Grafton West Virginia station stop and the few passengers on board are getting a view of the all the railroad infrastructure that was still in place in 1977. that included D Tower that the train had just passed, the coaling tower, and the roundhouse that provided support for part of the foot bridge that this shot was taken off of. Those are all no longer but I read that the station and hotel are awaiting restoration. There were only 25 of the GE P30CH's in Amtrak's fleet. I suspect that by this time in 1977, there weren't enough F40's to go around and they needed HEP for the Amfleet coaches.
The mountains create their own weather in Nepal. Giant waves of clouds frequently bump and bend around the jutting peaks creating stunning spectacles.
