Starling murmuration; a swarm of starlings gathering at sunset
This is a shot of a moving train, the blue local train “1883” (from Kalampaka to Palaeopharsalos) departing from the terminus in late November 2022. The western terminus of the Thessaly railroad line is Kalampaka beneath Meteora, Greece. Kalampaka was a border town or outpost of Greek territory, when the railway network was constructed in the 1880s.
Meteora is the name of the group comprising many impressive and lofty rock formations: The sandstone rock masses were formed 60 million years ago, are geologically unique and listed in UNESCO world herage sites.
Playing around with my new motion-activated bird photo booth. The Cornell bird guide says "A big, brash blackbird, the male Great-tailed Grackle shimmers in iridescent black and purple, and trails a tail that will make you look twice."

I'll let you in to a little secret - he's playing sudoku. 'Guy playing puzzle games on bench with people walking' wouldn't have made such a good title though would it?
Back to my home city of Nottingham. Quite cold yesterday but plenty of people to photograph. In some ways Winter is better for street shots as I quite like the hat and coat look.
Small crop to frame correctly and mono conversion on this one, and most importantly it's not a bridge shot! :)

I spun around in a chair and used the SlowShutter App. at two seconds for this image. I did several before coming up with this one.

Out in the mountains, even for a few hours, is rejuvenating. I’m reminded why I need to make it happen more often.
I was very lucky to capture this beautiful woodland with the sea and sky behind it. Just imagine the rain had stopped and the sunshine came out. When I climbed the hill and I looked back, there was this stunning view. I climbed further up the muddy bank, the wind blowing. Camera at the ready. I started to take photo's as I began slowly slipping and sliding back down the bank as I pressed the button.
So this image was captured with a little help from the wind, camera motion and luck.
