De Havilland Mosquito TT.35 TA634 at the de Havilland Aircraft Museum, London Colney, on 1st April 2007.
The De Haviland Mosquito was notable for its extensive use of wood to achieve a light air frame. Museum of the United States Air Force, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio.
The 14 mm f2.5 lens was very useful in this museum. The wide angle was good for large objects in a tight space and the fairly large aperture helped with the low light.
Summer, 1960. We were camped at Indian Creek, but took my dad's 1956 VW Microbus for a day trip to the North end of Priest Lake. The road there was very primative. No amenities at the beach - not even Forest Service outhouses at that time. For some reason the swimsuits weren't taken, and it appears that everyone was swimming in their underware! We were the only people on the beach that day.

In this photo, a mosquito pupa case floats around in a petri dish in our classroom in New Covenant School. We inferred that a mosquito hatched from this hardened case. This mosquito pupa skin is 1 cm long. Also, it feels squishy like jello. One group described it as feeling spongey and bouncy. We noticed that there is a little cut where the mosquito came out. After the mosquito emerged from the case, it floated on the surface of the water waiting for its wings to harden. Our teacher, Mr. Walker, got this skin from the Arlington Reservoir in MA on May 23, 2013. Mosquitos live in all continents, except Antarctica. Some kinds of mosquitos drink blood. Can you see the wings?

Kerala / Kochi / Mosquito
listen... you can hear the buzzing sound of the winged monsters...
Kochi has to make steady strides in mosquito control to retain the past glory, which fetched her, the coveted title of the “Queen of Arabian Sea”. It is high time that the responsible citizens of this enchanting city to take up the cudgel for an everlasting respite from these blood suckers !

This is the Swift River about a half mile below the spillway from the Winsor Dam at Quabbin Reservoir. The fisherman in the previous picture is just up and around the bend. This sylvan scene is deceiving as the highway bridge carrying Route 9 is literally above my head. Still, the water is wonderfully clear and the river is full of trout. This is a catch and release fly fishing area. It is also a slap and kill mosquito area. Mosquitos are the only living entities that I have no problem killing. It bothers me that I am so callous about them, but they really piss me off!

There were plenty of mosquitoes at the first place we stopped on our birding trip today. I took this picture very shortly after first stepping out of the car. Lots of bug spray and deet later we were left mostly alone.
Mosquito Shootdown Sequence: Video clips showing mosquitoes being killed by lasers. If played in real time, these segments would be roughly 1/10th of a second long.
A park ranger holds a piece of mosquito net found at a campsite hastily vacated by the LRA. Defectors said that women and commanders typically had vinyl tarps and mosquito netting, while fighters, children, and other captives slept under shelters made of grass.
