Another one from a fairly recent visit to the banks of the River Forth near the Wallace Monument in Stirling at sunrise.

This is taken from the Lincoln Memorial. I was there at 9:00 PM at night and there were still thousands of people around. Getting a clear shot with all of the reflection was impossible. The fence was temporary for the July 4th celebration. It was lovely to see so many of the monuments and memorials in DC.

July 4th, 2006 - wandering the Southwest, looking for photo opportunities, with Jeff Hay.

Monument Valley from my first (and so far only) roll of Velvia with the X-Pan. The saturation is over the top, but this is really close to what the slide looks like on a light box.

Winterberg is an important winter sports area in Western Germany. This ski jump monument is located at the town entrance.

Colorado National Monument was a special surprise that surpassed my expectations that I had going in. Full of unique rock formations, deep canyons, and colorful redrock this park is a much smaller and quieter alternative to places like Bryce Canyon and Grand Canyon. On this particular morning I had to practice a bit of patience in the cold waiting for the sun to rise and hit a hole in the clouds allowing it to illuminate the rocky landscape. It was a special morning to be out doing photography and even more sweet time to be with my Savior.

The Playfair Monument honours Scottish scientist John Playfair. It is one of the less photographed of Calton Hill's monuments. It was designed by the Scientist's nephew, a prominent city architect who also designed the adjacent observatory. It was constructed in 1825. Edinburgh, Lothian, UK.

I've been wanting to visit Monument Valley since my first trip to the States in 1997, so I was happy that we were able to plan it into this trip. A truly beautiful place to visit. 21/09/2019.

Largs' most famous monument is The Pencil, situated at the south end of the Prom, near to Largs Marina. The Pencil was built in 1912, to commemorate the Battle of Largs 1263, when the Scots defeated King Haco of Norway's troops on the shore at Largs, after the 160 long ships got caught in a storm.

We took our first trip to the nation's capital a few weeks ago and this is one of my favorites from the trip.

At 52 meters (170 feet) tall, Lisbon's Monument to the Discoveries commemorates the five hundredth anniversary of the death of Henry the Navigator, who discovered the Azores, Madeira, and Cape Verde
