Yoga is a transformational journey for body and mind! It is a wonderful daily activity that keeps life in balance; it strengthens every muscle; it reduces stress; it prevents injuries; it heals the mind, the body and the soul...
Sprint for Monroe 2018 (26th annual community race) was today: it was a great race! Many yogis participated and placed 1, 2 and 3 places... Congratulations to many of them: Jeff, Kristina, Aaron... well done! :-)
Photo of this week was at the before-race yoga; Thank you, Charles Wills! These participants enjoyed it and were grateful for the warm-up of all the muscles and getting their breathing ready for the run!
Photos from the May 22, 2016 worship service at Beacon HIll Church. We had visitors from Burma/Myanmar sharing with us, and heard about the new playground being donated and built.
Peaceful Warrior/Revolved Warrior, in Sanskrit Shanti Virabhadrasana, is a graceful yet powerful standing posture that provides a strong stretch of the side of the body along with many other benefits, such as opening the hip, lengthening the spine, strengthening the legs, toning the core muscles, boosting self esteem, opening the chest, and much more. Practice the pose on both sides of the body.
Pose of the week was taken in front of the largest castle in the beautiful Dutch countryside, the De Haar Castle/Kasteel de Haar Utrecht. This one was fun partnering up with my wonderful yogi, my daughter Karlisse (now a teenager yet she still continues to practice with me); I am very grateful. This Side Angle Stretching Pose can be practiced with a partner or alone, at home, at the studio, or on the go. The pose lengthens many muscles in the body as well as strengthens the legs, opens the chest & heart area, increases mental focus...Practice and all is coming!
