At the time of this picture, it was the last Mohawk station standing in the entire Lower Mainland (Greater Vancouver area.). I always liked the Mohawk branding and colours. Was converted into a Husky station not long after, like the others. You can see the presence of Husky branding on the pumps and on the convenience store by this time. Wish I had a better pic, but it was 10 years ago (As of this caption editing.).

At Soweto Gay Pride in Johannesburg, South Africa. The Pride March, in it's 3rd year is organized by Forum for the Empowerment of Women FEW. For years FEW has worked on advancing and defending the rights of black lesbian women and highlighting the violations faced by women in the townships because of their sexual orientation. When Soweto Pride was initiated in 2004, the idea was to bring about visibility of lesbian women in the townships and to reclaim our voices. The theme was celebrating our identities, our sexualities and our heritage, and was held on the location were two lesbians were brutally murdered three years ago.

this little guy surprised me yesterday morning asking to have his hair up in a mohawk because he wanted to look like his friend...
surprised why? because he freaks out whenever his hair doesn't look like he normally wears it.
he's growing up and turning into a little man :) it's both happy and sad at the same time
It’s a stamp of the black African Americans, a cult of a hairstyle that came into existence at the Mohawk Valley of New York in the late 1930s. It is the ‘Mohawk’, the attention grabbing stylish haircut that is awesomely unique. See More
