revised [2009.01.19] : it appears some have been inspired enough by this photograph to consider migrating to a new cabinet for their own 208. without modification, the mechanism which helps the legs prop up the cabinet up can interfere with the backplane cards in the 208 when collapsed...

 

the center boat is the only boat which has a possibility to contain the 208, and only if the e-series power bus board is replaced with another bus board (or modified- nothing i can recommend *cough*). the trick of this bit is compounded by the fact that the center boat's bus board holds an additional purpose (aside from powering modules): it has the necessary accomidations for the power switch and e-series program cards.

 

i'm not inclined to put forth a detailed disclosure of the "surgeon's log" which brought me success...i feel it would be grotesquely irresponsible of me to recommend this to anyone.

Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe taught a masterclass for Penn students in ICA's auditorium, followed by a performance in the Rodney McMillian exhibition. The sound system used in the performance was built by House of Roots.

Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe (b. 1975) is an artist and multi instrumentalist that combines voice and patch pieces with modular synthesizer for spontaneous performances. His live performances and recordings emphasize the physicality of sound to usher listeners into a trancelike state.

 

Lowe has often performed under the moniker of Lichens. and in collaboration with Ben Russell, Ben Rivers, Rose Lazar, Hisham Akira Bharoocha, Tarek Atoui, Ben Vida, Mark Borthwick, Lucky Dragons, Alan Licht, Michael Zerang, Doug Aitken, Patrick Smith, Monica Baptista, Lee Ranaldo, White/Light, Kevin Martin, OM, Tyondai Braxton, David Scott Stone, Genesis P-Orridge and Rose Kallal, as well as many others.

 

4 Voice Modular Synthesizer, Cabinet B, with 2 VCO, 4 VCF, 4 AHDSR, 4 Stereo VCA, 2-4 Ringmodulators, Noice Sources, 2 Random CV generators and one four phase LFO. This picture shows the pcb's of the complete electronic part (without power supply and interface), which contains around 9500 components ...

This Synthesizer is developed by Martin Hollinger from Synthorama, Switzerland in 2006 and this 2nd model was manufactured in March 2011.

This picture shows the rear side with the 4 Channel Midi Matrix, the inputs Midi, CV, Gate and Trigger and also the connectors to the Synthesizer part AVS-04B and the Sequencer AMS-496.
