This is the only Richardson 'Candle' in the Centre of old Cambridge that was modified and updated in the 1990s in an attempt to improve the lighting from this 1957 vintage fluorescent installation, without having to resort to replacing the famous Candles. However, the conversion was deemed unsuccessful and no other Candles were converted. In 2009 with an impending PFI street lighting renewal scheme in the offing, the Candle installation is still under threat.

‘A single post top Candle was removed and upgraded in accordance with the Speirs And Major Street Lighting Strategy document. Instead of using four fluorescent tubes, it uses two metal halide bulbs in a specially designed optical system'.

This Volkswagen Fridolin type 147 (owner Ruud Janssen ) is highly modified and since September 2013 in running condition . This car is powered by a thick W12 !
The Volkswagen Fridolin ( officially Kleinlieferwagen Type 147 ) is a van of German car manufacturer Volkswagen , which between 1964 and 1973 for the Federal Post Office was built . The nickname originated at Westfalia and probably refers to a rail vehicle where the car looks like.
The vehicle was ordered by the Federal Post in February 1962 and was intended for emptying mailboxes in inner cities . The vehicles used in the past were found to be less suitable for this and a test of the Goggomobil Transporter was failed. The new vehicle must include have a loading capacity of two cubic meters of which 400 pounds of mail items could be included . The cargo area also had to be accessible directly from the driver's cab . Furthermore, the vehicle must be equipped with sliding doors , because ordinary doors were difficult to open in the city .

This is a photograph from the 1st round of the 2015 Mullingar Road League which was held in Belvedere House and Gardens, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 6th May 2015 at 20:00. This year the 5KM was ran on a modified route based on the route from the last couple of years. Tonight the final 1KM stayed within the Belvedere Gardens bringing runners down to the lakeside for a second time and finishing along the aptly named Stream Of Life. The route modification meant that the race offered a slightly faster route than the hill finish of previous years.
The race is promoted by Mullingar Harriers for the Pat Finnerty Memorial Cup. Competitors need to run 3 races out of the 4 races in May (any order) to be considered in the overall placing in categories at the conclusion of the league. Over 350 people took part in tonight's event. The weather was perfect for running with sunshine with just a little breeze. The new finish area provided a nice space for runners to stay around and chat in the evening sunshine. The Mullingar Road League 2015 has started off successfully and looks to add to the success in the history of this great series.
The "Road League" is something of a misnomer but is an indication of the League's origins on the roads around Ladestown Mullingar prior to it's move into Belvedere in 2008. The Road League is the envy of many other races in the country as the Belvedere locations offers a completely traffic free 5KM route.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. Modified LEGO Minifigure Gloin with a throwing axe and a walking axe.
For those of you who have been following me, my apologies for a lack of uploads for a few months. School has been taking up most of my time, and although all of my Thorin and co. figs have been ready since last year, I haven't had time to photograph them.
I slightly modified the STAPs made by Lego. I replaced the medium blue on the larger one with dark blue, and I think it fits in a little better with other Separatist vehicles. I also changed the color of the engines. The main change I made to the brown one was I changed the footrest to be a 1x2 jumper, making the size a little better, and removing the ugly studs on the bottom. I also changed the stand, but that was only since I used the official piece for another blue one (I made two of each, but couldn't fit them all in the pic).
I've been fooling around with GeekTool for a couple of days. This is nothing compared to what I've seen done with it, but I like my results alright. This will not be my last attempt—it's quite an addictive thing.

Bagattelle d’Inverno, l’ultima grande sfida #snellobb04
Birichinate, cammuffamenti, trasvestimenti, scherzi… insomma, in una parola: Carnevale!
Comunque lo si dica e comunque lo si festeggi, il Carnevale è da secoli una festa in cui la parola d’ordine è “divertirsi”.
Quindi, bando all’austerità e bando alle restrizioni, potevamo, noi di MondoSnello, non cogliere quest’occasione perfetta di Gusto e di Benessere, per vivere l’ultimo grande appuntamento delle gare di cucina di Snello Blind Box?
Eccoci qui, allora, amici di Mondosnello, estimatori dei prodotti Snello Rovagnati e appassionati Food Blogger che partecipate con noi ormai da un tempo che comincia a farsi lungo, perfino “tradizionale” (proprio come ci piace ;-)) a darvi il benvenuto a questa quarta sfida tra pentole, fornelli e… qualcosa di speciale – sennò che Carnevale è!
I fantasiosi piatti saranno assaggiati e votati da una giuria di esperti gastronomi di altissimo livello, a cominciare da Gil Grigliatti, gourmet di cultura ed esperienza internazionale. Da giovane è stato fiduciario Slow Food, nonché ispettore della guida dei ristoranti del Gambero Rosso per diversi anni. Autore del blog bilingue di cultura enogastronomica isymposium.org. Ancora Paolo Barichella, esperto di Food Design, autore del blog barichella.it; Alessia Cipolla, architetto e sommelier, autrice de lacostruzionedelgusto.it; Alessandro Salamone, reduce dalla trasmissione di La7 Chef per un giorno, autore di spaghettibites.com e ancora Angela Tomaiuolo co-fondatrice del web magazine milanodabere.it. Inoltre sarà presente Giacomo Kratter, otto volte campione italiano ed ora allenatore della Nazionale Italiana Snowboard. Quella da snowboard però non è l’unica tavola che ama: infatti Giacomo è un grande appassionato di cucina e adora farsi coccolare in ristoranti di lusso.
La giuria per l’occasione sarà presenziata dallo chef stellato e pluripremiato Davide Scabin, uno dei più apprezzati in Italia e all’estero, noto al grande pubblico per la partecipazione, nei panni di giudice dei cuochi in gara, a La Prova del Cuoco condotto su Rai1 da Antonella Clerici.
Per questo, abbiamo deciso di mettere insieme una serie di ingredienti saporiti, variegati, originali, proprio come in ogni ricetta gourmet che si rispetti:
- un pizzico di tradizione – la sede di InKitchen Loft, che ormai è prontissima ad accoglierci, in qualunque veste ci presentiamo
- e uno di modernità – quello che emana netto dalle protagoniste della gara, giovani donne che si muovono agili tra vite professionali sfidanti e articolati ménage familiari
- una buona dose di fantasia - fatta di maschere, costumi e colori sgargianti
- e l’ingrediente segreto – le nostre amate BlindBox, chiuse fino all’ultimo secondo anche al più ardito degli sguardi
- il tutto cosparso con una spruzzata di giocosità bambina – grazie a un buon numero di piccoli “scavezzacollo” che avranno il loro tavolo, i loro ingredienti, i loro cibi, e soprattutto una chef d’eccezione - Stefania Corrado, la “Multitasking Chef” che più che presentazioni merita i nostri più sentiti complimenti ;-) – a guidarli alla scoperta del buon cibo, del gusto e del mangiare bene… sapendolo preparare.
Già, perché, in fondo, soprattutto in un’era estremamente tecnologica come la nostra e come quella di quell’immediato futuro in cui saranno loro i protagonisti del mondo – far mettere “le mani in pasta” ai nostri bimbi lo consideriamo un onore, oltre che un piccolo grande contributo all’educazione dei “buoni mangiatori” di domani…
Amanti della cucina, appassionate del gusto, attente all’armonia dei sapori e alla cura per la buona e la bella tavola
Estimatrici di ricette snelle - per velocità, capacità, leggerezza - esperte nella valorizzazione degli ingredienti di stagione e nella rivisitazione moderna di piatti tradizionali, si sfideranno, si concentreranno su pentole e fornelli dimenticando tutto il resto, per dare il meglio di sé.
Ecco le Food Blogger di Snello BlindBox 04 – Bagattelle d'Inverno, vere animatrici dell'evento, che con le loro ricette e la loro esperienza renderanno onore ai prodotti Snello, Gusto e Benessere.

I modified a Pelican 1450 to be able to mount on the rear rack of my bicycles. I bought the mounting hardware from Ortlieb and drilled holes into the case. I had to shave off some of the grooves so that the hardware would mount fush to the case.
Burdock root is very crisp and has a sweet, mild, and pungent flavor with a little muddy harshness that can be reduced by soaking julienned or shredded roots in water for five to ten minutes. It's primarily popular in Japanese and Chinese dishes.

RD7909. Great Western Modified Hall class 4-6-0 7915 MERE HALL approaches Hardwick Central on the Great Cockcrow Railway. Although of a Great Western design by Frederick Hawksworth, the real MERE HALL was not built until 1950 and was thus a British Railways built locomotive. This model of 7915 was built in 1952, only two years after the prototype.
The Great Cockcrow Railway is an impressive and extensive fully signalled 7¼” gauge line near Chertsey in Surrey.
