There was a Pumpkinhead comic series from Dark Horse that I collected (for whatever strange reason). Anyway, they never finished it... they did import this kit though. The last issue of the comic series is actually printed in the instructions to the kit! If you wanted to finish the series, you had to buy this insanely expensive model. I think I included the comics when I sold this kit.
First Master Grade Model kit I made. Learned valuable lessons building this one. Specifically to use a primer before painting the main coat.
This was my first build where I encountered heavy paint stripping. Because the pylox lacquer spray paints I had been using didn't adhere very well to the kit. Even just a light pass on the surface would cause the paint to peel.
Eventually I had to remove the old paint and repaint it again.
Paint's used here where Pylox flat black, fire red and metallic graphite. Then coated with Future acrylic floor wax to make it glossy.
Too bad that the paint could easily be peeled off.

I've assembled several Gundam model kits before but this was the first time I took it a bit further than just piecing it together. I went in and did some basic paint work and line detailing. unfortunately there is a piece missing from the forehead assembly and one of the "spikes" of the yellow part in the forehead assembly has been broken off due to transportation and storage. I had put this together a while back and moved since then. Just recently I had the urge to do more with it and gave it a proper photo session. Since it is a little damaged, I'm thinking of making it into a battle damaged project in the near future.
The set up I used was 2 desk lamps, a couple of soft boxes that I fashioned out of cardboard and the tissue paper usually used to stuff gift bags, and a flat black poster board that I smeared gold glitter craft glue on.
