Saturday Night in the workshop rigging the Clipper Model "Young America" while listening to Miles Davis "Kinda Blue".
I got a new-to-me barn for my backyard railroad and immediately Jane set about to inspecting it for mice.
Cobham Bus Museum Redhill road in miniature by Kingsway Models, more detail to be added but happy with the result so far.
The Think Tank from the first Ghost in the Shell animated movie is one of my all time favourite mechs. With the new movie on the brink I felt it's a good time to show the model some love again.
So I made a new refined and tweaked version in order to eliminate all custom items for reasons of re-buildabilty. Also I made use of some newly released parts which give it a nice polish.
Building instructions and a parts list have been created for anyone interested.

My wife wanted a bit of shopping from Rothbury.
We parked the car on the public car park and just needed to walk over a bridge over the river, and along this lovely little street and we were in town.
We got a couple of sandwiches from the bakers and ate them next to the River Coquet, at a bench.

Another robot adaption from Ghost in the Shell. The challenge was to make the robot minifig size, while being able to fully retract as seen on screen.

I got hold of a nice Majorette children's toy with the number 297. I disassembled all parts. I sawed off the rear fenders, lengthened the chassis and added three rear axle brackets. From a blister packet I cut the windows for the cabin. I painted the chassis and the cabin. I added a tilt body and wipers, rear view mirrors, lights, horns, mud flaps and so on.
Now the 1/87 model looks like a heavy Mack bulk dumper.

Conseguí un bonito juguete infantil Majorette con el número 297. Desmonté todas las piezas. Corté los guardabarros traseros, alargué el chasis y añadí tres soportes del eje trasero. De un blister corté las ventanas por la cabina. Pinté el chasis y la cabina. Agregué una carrocería basculante y limpiaparabrisas, espejos retrovisores, luces, bocinas, guardabarros de goma, etc.
Ahora el modelo 1:87 parece un volquete pesado Mack.
El cartel publicitario dice: Yo soy el Señor tu Dios que toma tu mano derecha y te dice: "no temas, yo te ayudaré".

Ich habe ein schönes Majorette Kinderspielzeug mit der Nummer 297 ergattert. Ich habe alle Teile zerlegt. Ich sägte die hinteren Kotflügel ab, verlängerte das Chassis und fügte drei Hinterachsträger hinzu. Aus einer Blisterpackung habe ich die Fenster für die Kabine geschnitten. Ich habe das Chassis und die Kabine lackiert. Ich fügte eine Kippkarosserie und Scheibenwischer, Rückspiegel, Lichter, Hörner, Schmutzfänger und so weiter hinzu.
Jetzt sieht das 1/87-Modell aus wie ein schwerer Mack-Schüttgutkipper.
Auf dem Werbeplakat steht geschrieben: Ich bin der Herr, dein Gott, der deine rechte Hand ergreift und zu dir sagt: "Fürchte dich nicht, ich helfe dir."

Luckily, Sofia doesn't know that Paul named the yacht after his former fiancé, Liliana.
The H0 Kibri yacht and the figurines were embellished by me.
Alrik Greybeard once lived somewhere high up in the snowy mountains. He was an old dwarf who had already been on countless raids. Alrik, who was commonly called Alrik Greybeard, had decided to make one last journey in his old age. He wanted to meet all of his friends once again, whom he had met on his travels. And, it must be said, Alrik was never averse to adventures that might arise along the way... up here, in the mountains, that is where Alrik's last journey begins.

The frigid plain was not glacier, it was just sea ice, maybe half a meter thick. This was not Hoth, but for TK-24/7 the pristine snow and the blinding sunlight was a sweet reminder of his favourite planet.
Next to the roofed wicker beach chair, Rachel and Erika dry themselves with their beach towels after swimming.

Another adaption from the GitS universe, this time at miniscale, including retractable 'sting'/cannon and landing gear.
This model has also been featured in the blocks magazine alongside the cyberpunk article.

In the year 33 A.C. the streets of Jerusalem are full of people. Some are buying and some are selling. Women fetch water from the well. A carter lets his ox drink. A small flock of sheep is just pushing to the watering place.
Suddenly the sound of a trumpet sounds and the street trembles with heavy footsteps. Roman soldiers with whips drive Jesus carrying his cross to the hill of Golgotha.
Before they abused and mocked Jesus, but he did not open his mouth like a lamb being led to the slaughterhouse. Jesus didn't fight back. He voluntarily accepted his death on the cross and with it the guilt of mankind in order to clear the way to God. He gave his life so that we could be saved. We just have to accept that.
I created the diorama based on texts in the Bible (e.g. John 19).
On Good Friday we commemorate Jesus' death on the cross and on Easter Sunday his resurrection.

Camino al calvario
En el año 33 d.C. Las calles de Jerusalén están llenas de gente. Algunos están comprando y algunos están vendiendo. Las mujeres sacan agua del pozo. Un carretero deja beber a su buey. Un pequeño rebaño de ovejas está empujando hacia el abrevadero.
De repente suena el sonido de una trompeta y la calle tiembla con pasos pesados. Soldados romanos con látigos conducen a Jesús cargando su cruz hasta la colina del Gólgota.
Antes abusaban y se burlaban de Jesús, pero él no abrió la boca como un cordero llevado al matadero. Jesús no se defendió. Él aceptó voluntariamente su muerte en la cruz y con ella la culpa de la humanidad para abrir el camino a Dios. Él dio su vida para que pudiéramos ser salvos. Solo tenemos que aceptar eso.
Creé el diorama basado en textos de la Biblia (por ejemplo, Juan 19).
El Viernes Santo conmemoramos la muerte de Jesús en la cruz y el Domingo de Resurrección su resurrección.

Weg nach Golgatha
Im Jahre 33 nach Christus. Die Strassen von Jerusalem sind voller Leute. Einige sind am Kaufen und andere am Verkaufen. Frauen holen Wasser am Brunnen. Ein Fuhrmann lässt seinen Ochsen trinken. Eine kleine Schafherde drängt gerade zur Tränke.
Plötzlich ertönt Posaunenschall und die Strasse erzittert von schweren Schritten. Römische Soldaten treiben mit Peitschen Jesus, der sein Kreuz trägt, zum Hügel Golgatha.
Vorher haben sie Jesus misshandelt und verspottet, aber er tat seinen Mund nicht auf, wie ein Lamm, das man zur Schlachtbank führt. Jesus wehrte sich nicht. Er nahm seinen Kreuzestod und damit die Schuld der Menschheit freiwillig auf sich um den Weg zu Gott frei zu machen. Er gab sein Leben, damit wir gerettet werden können. Wir müssen das nur annehmen.
Ich habe das Diorama nach Texten in der Bibel (z.B.: Johannes 19) erstellt.
Am Karfreitag gedenken wir Jesu Tod am Kreuz und am Ostersonntag seiner Auferstehung.

Modified Matchbox MB937 Urban Tow Truck in 1/87 scale diorama.
I repainded the little toy and I made it work for Munthorpe.
This prototype is especially designed for its high-velocity, extreme manouverability and the capability of hovering and vertical flight, therefore it is very usefull for espionage, air combat and high speed chases.
The ship I've build is loosely based on some of the airplanes and spaceships from the "Trigan Empire" comic book series.
I did no research for this model. Obviously it's a nod to Aliens and the Matrix (and WH40k Sentinels). But I didn't look at a single reference picture till it was done.
Holiday decor at the United States Botanic Garden, November 2018. The gardens are famous for their displays of models of famous buildings hand-crafted from plants, as well as electric model trains in floral surroundiings.

One year after crushing the competition with their 60-tonner crane Ardelt in 1929 again blew everyone away with this 25-ton crane. Its unique feature is the -under full load- sliding superstructure. The crane could move 8.9 meters sliding over it’s under carriage. This meant almost a doubling of the reach of a standard 25-ton crane and saved lots of time moving and supporting the crane. The under carriage has two three axled bogies. The crane has 10 stamps of which 4 were hydraulic and 6 were extendable working with a spindle. The maximum load of 25 tons is possible with a reach between 5 and 6.6 meters. At 9.9 meters, and fully extended a 6,1 tons load was still possible. To achieve this the crane is equipped with sliding counterweights. Two underneath the superstructure and one on each side. Seven of these cranes were built by Ardelt in Eberswalde between 1929 and 1930 and delivered to the Deutsche Reichsbahn. They were often used in tandem to hoist bridge sections in to place. I’ve depicted the ‘700-070 Hamburg’. The crane has a dedicated support car for transport purposes. This car is equipped with a support for the boom and multiple boxes for storage of hoisting equipment and other stuff.

The LEGO model is powered by a Circuit Cubes receiver and three motors. One for turning-, one for raising and lowering of the boom and one for operating the hoist cable winch. Initially I was planning on adding a fourth motor for sliding operations but lack of space (the superstructure is only 5 studs wide) meant I had to compromise.

Vandaag 09-06-2019 de laatste hand aan lijn 11 gelegd. Ruiten er in. Reclames er op. Tram en lijnnummers er op. Laatste schilderwerkjes gedaan. Verlichting werkt binnen continu en front en achterlichten werken wisselend in de rijrichting. De verlichting is opgebouwd uit LED's. Onder het plafond hangt dan ook aardig wat elektronica want de tram werkt zoals alle LGB treinen op 24 volt. En LED's slechts op 3 volt in één stroomrichting. Voorzien van vlaggetjes en wimpeltjes met origineel opschrift "Heden avond vuurwerk Scheveningen" Nou op een goede afloop dan maar :)
