I made this roughly SEVEN months ago as an entry for the Iron Modder contest on Flickr. This was my second mod to use real wood, and was made before I started allowing figs to hold the weapons.
A nice flashback, IMO.
Hij was nog een soort van schoon toen we 'm ophaalden bij het verhuurbedrijf op de luchthaven van Lviv. Maar een witte auto wordt snel vies na een dag in de Oekraïense modder baggeren.

It was still kind of clean when we picked it up from the rental company at Lviv airport. But a white car quickly gets dirty after a day dredging in the Ukrainian mud.

Sanatorium Zonnestraal van Jan Duiker en zijn partners Bernard Bijvoet en Jan Gerko Wiebenga (deze laatste vooral vanwege zijn kennis op het gebied van betonbouw), gelegen op de hei bij Hilversum. Prachtig complex uit 1926-'28. Rijksmonument 46771.
Twee jaar geleden ook al eens geweest in tamelijk modderig weer. Dit keer deden de zon en de hei mee.

I got the idea to do this a while back while playing MoH, so please dont say I stole the idea.
I made the scope removable, so that I can put it on other weapons as well :)

De gewone oeverlibel is een veelvoorkomende prachtige libel. Uitgekleurde mannetjes zijn blauw. De vrouwtjes zijn geel met op de bovenkant van het achterlijf twee dikke zwarte lengtestrepen. Nadat de larf uit het ei is gekropen overwintert deze twee á drie keer in de modder of plantresten in het water. Vliegtijd vanaf begin mei tot eind september.
La Louviëre - Aan de oevers van staalbedrijf Duferco.
Deze plek had voor mij persoonlijk een speciale betekenis.
Op nog geen 100 meter van elkaar met de rivier De Samber tussenin ziet men de oorsprong van staal en tegelijk de aftakeling ervan met als grootste status symbool voor de mens : De auto.
Ik had eigenlijk nog een andere titel in mijn gedachte.
Aan de oevers van de tijd.

This place had a special significance for me personally.
Less than 100 meters from each other with a water in between we see the origin of steel, while the degradation thereof with the biggest status symbol for the man: The car.
I had actually another title in my mind.

Without a doubt my favourite sniper rifle of all time. I absolutely LOVE it.
This is an updated and far more accurate replication of my attempt five month's ago.
Also, this is my entry for Iron Modder Round 3.

I took of the barrel from the JFSL and replaced it with a shorter and thinner barell. The glue will be removed and painted over. If you are added,your one of the best weapon modder IMO and i would like C&C from you :)

The sun sets over a mudflat in Emmapolder, Groningen, The Netherlands. Lee .9ND hard grad filter applied.
The Pied Avocet (Recurvirostra avosetta) is a large wader in the avocet and stilt family (Recurvirostridae). The 40 to 45 cm Avocets are easy to identify. Adults have white plumage except for a black cap and black patches in the wings and on the back. They have long, upturned beaks and long, bluish legs.
They breed in temperate Europe and western and Central Asia. This species is migratory and most winter in Africa or southern Asia. Some remain to winter in the mildest parts of their range, for example in southern Spain and southern England.
These birds forage in shallow brackish water or on mud flats, often scything their bills from side to side in water (a feeding technique that is unique to the avocets. They mainly eat crustaceans and insects.
This species gets its English and scientific names from its black cap, as once worn by European advocates or lawyers. The call of the Avocet is a loud “klute-klute-klute”. The Dutch name is therefore “Kluut”.
The Pied Avocet is one of the species to which the Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds (AEWA) applies.

De kluut (Recurvirostra avosetta) is een sierlijke moerasvogel vogel uit de familie van kluten (Recurvirostridae). Door de extreem lange blauwgrijze poten en het overwegend witte verenkleed met scherpe zwarte tekening is de 40 à 45 cm grote kluut in Nederland een opvallende vogel. De kluut is de enige Europese vogel met een duidelijk omhoog gebogen snavel. Met behulp van deze snavel vangt de kluut op een bijzondere manier zijn voedsel. Het voedsel zoals insecten en kleine kreeftjes wordt in ondiep water gevangen, waarbij de kluut met maaibewegingen de snavel door de modder beweegt.
De kluut broedt in kolonies, zowel langs de kust als verder landinwaarts in moerassen of bij ondiepe plassen met zout of brak water. Het nest bestaat uit een kuiltje met wat plantendelen, waarin ongeveer vier eieren gelegd worden. Na het uitkomen van de eieren verlaten de jongen het nest meteen en gaan al zelfstandig op zoek naar voedsel.
De Nederlandse kluten zijn trekvogels en brengen de winter door langs de kusten van Zuidwest-Europa of West-Afrika.
De zwarte tekening op de verder witte kop heeft veel weg van een capuchon. De Engelse naam 'avocet' is dan ook afgeleid van het woord 'advocaat', naar de Europese pleitbezorgers die vroegen capuchons droegen. De roep van de kluut is een luid klute-klute-klute, waar de Nederlandse naam dus ook vandaan komt.

In Line for the Currywurst with the red in my Colour Name Modder replied by blue. (Just the Colour Name Modder red, the other reds are left intact.) Makes quite a difference.
As promising to Modder, some more shots with the updated version. I'm starting to enjoy it more and more.

On this particular morning in January 1980 we saw around 6 freights heading up the climb from Modder River heading into Kimberley before Breakfast. After breakfast it was time to spend the rest of the morning and early afternoon round the Municipal swimming pool in Kimberley before going out on the Bloemfontein line in the late afternoon.
