A cold day at least for Florida. Soaking up some sun.

Just because it's pretty and I love it. It grows in a spot where you walk out from dim light in a stand of huge pines into the open sunshine and are immediately met with a big bunch of delicate white blooms. It doesn't smell like anything, so I'm going with an ID of scentless mock-orange, but it's lovely anyway. If I want the pretty scent, I'll go east to the spot where there's a dying tree absolutely covered with wild roses and honeysuckle. :)

Mock orange is a native shrub here in eastern Washington, USA. I plant native shrubs and flowers in my yard, where I took this photo. IMG_1295

Lewis' Mock Orange - Philadelphus lewisii

Philadelphus are deciduous shrubs with simple, opposite leaves and bowl-shaped, usually fragrant flowers which may be solitary or in small panicles or racemes in summer

'Belle Etoile' is a compact medium-sized deciduous shrub of arching growth with ovate leaves; highly-scented single white flowers to 3ins in width, tinged purple in the centre, in late spring and early summer

Some of these flowers are past their best, one has developed into a seedhead - should have taken this shot a week ago!

The club held a Mock Tetrathlon (swimming, shooting, running, cross country jumping, stadium jumping) in the Spring of 2005.
