Foxwall participated in the "Mock MVA" at Fox Chapel High School to discourage drinking and driving. Local EMS and Fire services staged an accident and emergency response at the high school.

 

The students look on as the "accident" unfolds.

This flowering shrub is next to our deck and flowered in late June. I'm now pretty sure that this is a mock-orange.

Last Thursday spectators had the opportunity to watch a mock crime scene play out in the Student Center. The simulation was a collaboration between the criminal justice, accounting, and information and communications technology programs. The scenario involved a gunshot victim with stick drives containing evidence including banking records and ransom notes. It was a wonderful way to demonstrate through one example how the various academic fields and career paths can be closely aligned depending on the situation.

The group watches and takes notes on a mock interview conducted by seminar participant Florin Nasture and Dr. Hana Ripkova, Executive Director of the J. William Fulbright Commission for Educational Exchange in the Czech Republic.

There a several crows in the area as well as mocking birds. To be such a little bird, they have quite the courage. Like a David and Goliath. Mocking birds are quite territorial and they should be. Crows have been known to eat bird eggs. It is always funny to see a crow and then watch the mocking birds sound the alarm. The Mocking birds are always fighting amongst their selves, but when a predator is around they fight as a unit.
