I'm a visual learner so setting the frame up and putting all the pieces together was very helpful in visualizing the build. Once set-up as such, if it was possible to clamp everything into place for brazing right then and there I would attempt this. If not then I would take it all down and recreate the mock-up horizontally on the steel work surface, clamp in place and then tack and braze.

With some of the original instruments used

Just seeing how it looks...

Mock up scene showing Market Frankford train on newly painted elevated structure & SEPTA Maintenance of Way work scene. The final layout will feature a winter theme, and a few small icicles are hanging from the elevated structure here (left of 13'-4" sign). The arrow board is scratchbuilt by me using a "lighted arrow" kit from Minitronics Corp. The actual trailer and mounting are made by me using actual drawings from a company that makes the real things. Note Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins on the far right corner. I scratchbuilt that several years ago. Even HO Scale America Runs On Dunkin!

A work-in-progress mock-up of a Mobile Frame Zero unit card.

Once the design is settled I plan on creating a template using the Magic Set Editor.

Still working on data that will appear in the bottom section below the unit name and model number.

The back will likely have a place for details (fluff) about the various systems (make, model, caliber, etc...)

If all goes well, the Holga will sit like this right up against the polaroid back.

You can see how I trimmed the metal across the top of the back so the Holga could fit.

Just a mock up I printed on my ultimaker. The undercuts would make it difficult to mold, but it will work great as a prototype from which to scratch build.
