Creating a bokeh effect at home during lockdown. Day 4 of lockdown projects.

Camera: Agfa Isolette II

Film: CineStill 50D Daylight Fine Grain 120

CINESTILL 50Daylight is an EI 50/18° speed daylight balanced (5500K) color negative motion picture film stock for still photography. Based on the original motion picture emulsion, this film is prepped and rolled for clean and safe standard photo lab processing or Cs41 development at home, but it may also be processed in Cs2 chemistry for low-contrast motion picture negatives. Ideal for shooting in bright light at wide apertures and for producing high resolution, low grain images.

The exposure latitude of this film is beyond anything digital and even most other films can hope to achieve. With 50D you can achieve beautiful results by rating it anywhere between ISO 12-100 without the need for push processing. No matter how you meter, you will see almost no grain, but color, contrast, shadow detail and highlight rendering will be affected by the chosen ISO you meter at. If you expose at a lower ISO you will get warmer images with greater halation in the highlights.

Rocketdyne produced seven serialized high-fidelity F-1 engine mock-ups. Although non-functional, they were used for early engineering purposes. Most are/were? mounted on test (i.e., non-flight) Saturn V first stages.

In this photograph, the second of these, FM-101 (the first being FM-100), was featured in a paper written by D. E. Aldrich & D. J. Sanchini of the Rocketdyne Division of North American Aviation. See:

heroicrelics.org/info/f-1/fm-101/fm-101.jpg

“I don't know exactly when FM-101 (or any of these engine mock-ups) were manufactured, but they certainly reflect an early design:

- There is no provision for thermal insulation.

- There is no interface panel.

- The fuel high-pressure ducts are straight, rather than the "U"-shaped ducts which characterized later production engines.

- The LOX dome has twin-elbow inlets.

F-1 engine mock-up FM-103 is on display in the Kennedy Space Center Rocket Garden (where, oddly enough, it is completely painted silver).”

The direct copy/paste above is in quotations, along with my paraphrasing from Mike Jetzer’s superlative “HEROIC RELICS” website, which he gleaned from Alan Lawrie’s book “Saturn” and a paper, “Saturn V Booster – The F-1 Engine”, by D. E. Aldrich, located in the Saturn V Collection, Dept. of Archives/Special Collections, M. Louis Salmon Library, University of Alabama in Huntsville, at:

I’m hoping the above is no longer the case, and that FM-103 was moved out of the elements into the Apollo/Saturn V Center.

Wait…one more. Look at the multiple monstrous card catalog cabinets behind the F-1! Commensurate with the size of the the engine.

just had a little mess about when i got home today.

So partner what do you think? This is not an actual block for your quilt...not the right colors. But, do you like the look? I need to match the seams up a little better. The two on top I foundation pieced to muslin and the bottom two I did not, so I could compare my ability to not let them get wonky. I think this shows that the foundation piecing does help. Assembled this block measures out at 7.5" square.

So partner, should it be all solids or would you rather a tiny little print? How about colors?

studio mock up number 2, further comping needed for the final image.

needs more colour etc i think

before I take it all apart, a quick mock up of how I plan to put it back together.

Drool Tool Productions needed some scenes of a clown running around posing as room service and scaring people, so, they spent $10,000 for an enormous blowup of an eight story hotel. Turns out, it would have been cheaper to just rent some rooms for a day.

British Aerospace Hawk 200 mock-up at Farnborough on 8th September 1990.

Here is another mock-up! This one is based off the new animated TV show coming this Fall (?). The far left is final product, middle is what I based it off of, and far right is the base I started with. This custom will probably never be made in real life by me since the pieces required are hard to get (the head and kinda the hair). But anyway, I'm making this a segment and am planning on making more of these mock-ups for the next couple weeks. Hope y'all like it!

Also, sorry for lack of posts, life gets busier by the day! :)

Mock-up of a class 1420 electric multiplie unit for use by the S-Bahn München at the Open Space of the IAA Mobility 2025 in München, Germany.

At the IAA, DB Regio, the operator of S-Bahn München, showed a 22 metre long mock-up of the new 1420 EMU which is due to enter service in 2028. The model, made mostly from wood, demonstrated the interior of the new S-Bahn trains.

Siemens Mobilty won the contract to supply 90 trainsets of the with the option of an additional 90 units. The EMUs, which are based on the Mireo City platform, will be built at the Siemens plant at München-Allach. At the moment, the manufacturer gives the following specifications for the future Class 1420:

Power: 7.8 MW

Length: 202.2 m

Vmax: 160 km/h

Passenger capacity, seated/total: 480/1820

Saturday night front derailleur braze-on fun. If I can, I mock it all up so it’s in the perfect position for the selected gearing...in this case a Campagnolo Athena compact double. #saturdaynight #brazeon #derailleur #campagnolo #athena #compact #chapmancycles

Here is the unfinished mock up of Medusa.

Pieces need to be connected and painted.

I like the bendy tail. But it is very stiff. And I can't wrap it in any pose that she can stand on her own. The movie character had a lot of tail .

I am looking at putting on the Shedusa ReAction figure lower body on this. It is too small of a tail. But at least it can stand on its own.

I want her to look like something Mattel

would have made with the vintage line.
