Remember Colabto, a future mobile phone concept? I tried to make a rough mock-up of it. Hope to hold a personal exhibition of such futuristic concepts in NY, displaying mock-ups and movies, etc. Wish I had a sponsor!
This was a site specific installation I did a couple of years ago as part of a Uni art course, based on the idea of a Wunderkammer. The bookcase was borrowed, the books (all mine) represent knowledge. The top 2 shelves are classical references: the old wooden Acanthus column tops (from Ebay) made from teak which is now a protected species, the bust (£1 from the market) the antique clock (inherited) and my collection of Penguin classic books.Traditional art training was based on drawing classical sculptures, and a thorough grasp of techniques.
The left half of the second row has a ball and a glove referencing a de Chirico painting (he also made classical references).
On the third row, the empty shelf represents the lack of knowledge, the absence of skill training, and the lack of tools and equipment on the art course at Uni. The chicken wire across the front places a barrier across the knowledge making it impossible to access.
The piece was borne out of frustration at the state of art training at the institution. They had even forgotten to renew the sculpture tutor's contract so there was no leader of that strand to the course.
I installed it at the Uni and used stones to hold down the wire netting (as in old vernacular buildings in Japan), signifying the primitive techniques, and replaced the red glove with a pink rubber glove - much scrubbing of floors etc had been involved in the show as they had no budget to pay the cleaners.
The irony is that the installation is all done by stacking - no screws were even involved in the assembly of the bookcase. Stacking was the form of sculpture promoted by the Uni in the absence of skills and equipment.

On Thursday March 9, 2017, my Wife & I went to the Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Florida. There were many Kiddie Rides and numerous Big Boy/Girl Rides
This photograph shows a series of 6 Photographs of a Simulated Strawberry Farm (aka: Mock Up).
The Strawberry Festival had a vast number of Rides and Food Joints and I'm sure Bell City Subcontracted other Carnival Vendors to fill the venue; either that, or the Strawberry Festival Board itself hired other Carnival Vendors to supply Rides & Food Vendors.

This mock-up of the Apollo lunar module was used to train astronauts in Johnson Space Center (JSC) for the lunar landings.
Before starting any permanent modifications, I mocked up the idea to see if it would work ok. After being reasonable satisfied, I started into it.

Haley got those boots for Christmas. Just before we went out to shoot the pictures she put them on. I believe there is no better way to show those boots off then in the picture above. I just could not make an mock up ad out of it...... :-)
Our current and old website is www.christianliferantoul.com and as you can see it is pretty much ugly. So an update is definitely called for. I am working with a web designer to build a website that will look way better. It is being built offsite on Wordpress.
Audience: General Church members and people checking us out before coming
Adjustments: The top is what is a screen shot of the current home page and the bottom one is what I'm about to send back as adjustments that I'd like to be made.
1. Made the logo vertically centered
2. Moved up the navigation (headers) to stay in sync with the logo
3. Moved the search bar up to be vertically centered between the black bar and the navigation
4. Moved the whole slider up to give more room and space at the bottom.
Obviously, I wasn't trying to win a design award with the bottom adjustment mockup but merely communicate placement of key items. Do you have any suggestions before I send this to the web designer or does the bottom one look good?
Mock-up of lower level of layout to check that train coach can navigate the tunnel, figure out how best to attach baseplates for upper level, design supports for upper level etc.
