I was given a sweet tour of the LASD grounds in Whittier, CA by The Tez!

The screen shows a great program made by a former JPL and LASD employee which lets the LASD IC add realtime data and updates through a very clear and intuitive user interface. It uses drag 'n' drop and can be connected to other networks to increase communication between agencies.

You can see the satellite dish mounted on the top, the other pictures show it folded down.

This is also called an Urban Assault Vehicle. The inside was pretty damn sweet with a bunch of TVs, Satellite receivers, small network rack, and some other "camper"-type things.

A smaller room towards the back of the trailer holds more comm equipment. There are maps on the wall indicating what area the MCU is currently working, which is important since the areas between LASD and LAPD jurisdictions can get confusing.

I think all LASD vehicles have this added somewhere... since 1850! This was even before the American Civil War!

Behind the driver's seat is bunk space with some climate controls. There is an extra berth folded up against the back cab wall and ventilation windows that can be louvered open and closed. There are windows above with sunblocking dark covers that can be snapped on or off and a teeny bit of desk space (for all that paperwork the old timers like to do).
