This is a California Office of Emergency Services 1992-1996 Ford Econoline radio/satellite van and a 1998-2001 Dodge Ram Quadcab. Both of these emergency vehicles are used to facilitate communications between first responders during major emergencies. Newer versions of this pickup truck & van are white with blue stripes.

THE NEW MOBILE COMMAND UNIT (MCU) COSTS HK$7.7 MILLION. IT WAS DELIVERED TO HONG KONG FIRE SERVICE DEPARTMENT IN JANUARY 2013 AND EXPECTED TO BE PUT IN COMMISSION IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2013 AFTER COMPLETION OF RELEVANT TRAINING FOR THE CREW MEMBERS.

It may not be very flashy, on the outside, but this converted ambulance is essentially an ICS office on wheels on the inside.
If any calamities do kick off, the battalion and district chief can coordinate in air-conditioned comfort.

In Canada, the law enforcement (police forces) and Candian Forces (collective name for the army, navy and air force) are officially gay friendly. Every year during Toronto Pride, a huge contingent of national, provincial and local police forces, plus the army, fire fighting forces, and paramedics show up and join the huge Pride parade-party.
