We've had no gas supply for 2 days now, and last night half the village lost it's electricty too. Water in the pipes apparently. People actually had water squirting out of their gas cookers and fires! Wherever you go in the village there's a guy in a yellow jacket digging a hole, it's bloody freezing too. Heaters and cookers have been handed out by National Grid who have been really professional throughout. Temporary generators are being installed currently to try to get the electricity back on. I guess inevitably lots of homes will require new meters, cookers and boilers etc.

The gas and electricity outage in Caddington continues. Some homes in the village have gas, some has electricity, some have both, some have neither. A real mixed bag. Our gas is still out but at least we have electricity. An eerie silence decended on the village last night with further power cuts. The emergency rest centres have been open 24 hours a day for the last few days and have done a great job.
Meanwhile, the snowy weather continues to hamper the army of men busy working away down numerous holes scattered around the village

ELW3 - Feuerwehr Dortmund, in 1:160.
Der ELW auf Sattelzugbasis wurde im Jahr 2005, pünktlich zur Fußball Weltmeisterschaft 2006, im eigenen Land, als Ersatz für insgesamt drei Abrollbehälter aus den 1980er Jahren beschafft. Das Fahrzeug besteht aus einer MAN TGA Sattelzugmaschine (intern als LKW10 geführt) und einem Auflieger der von der Firma Binz ausgebaut wurde. Der Auflieger verfügt über einen hydraulischen Ausschub, um den Stabsraum auf fast das Doppelte zu vergrößern.
Mein ELW basiert auf Grundmodellen von Herpa. Aus der MAN TGX Kabine wurde, durch sägen, spachteln, feilen und kleben, eine TGA Zugmaschine. Der Auflieger wurde ebenfalls angepasst. Decals und Bedruckung entstanden in Eigenarbeit am PC. Die Blaulichter entstanden aus Spritzgussresten.

The original Truck was purchased in 2005 and the trailer has a hydraulic ejection to almost double increase the staff room.
My Mobile Command Unit based on a Herpa Semi Truck. The decals are self made created on the PC and the emergency lights are made from sprue remains.
