Our Anniversary rose budding again.

Wow thank you all for your nice comments. So nice to see it made Explore as well.

It been a while since my last upload on here. Sadly i have lost my interest in photography, I live in such a lovely area and so close to the countryside and coastline.

This is a area called Whitecliff and can been found within the Poole harbour area. Taken with my mobile camera.

Shot taken from West Midnapore District, West Bengal, India, by Samsung mobile camera, on 24th March, 2023.

Created with mobile - camera & PS.

We had really beautiful weather for our Mobile Photography Workshop in the Lewis Glucksman Gallery yesterday. With so much going on in Cork this weekend with the Jazz Festival, it was great to see that people travelled as far away as Dublin, Skibereen Midleton and Macroom to come to the workshop.

The day really flew by and it was very nice to get to know new people, share my love and passion for photography, and to learn from them also.

The morning session was an overview of how to get the best from your mobile camera, a look through some of the best photography apps out there (Darkroom, 1-hour photo, Base, Enlight and so on) and then a detailed and hands-on walk through the best photography app there is - Snapseed

After lunch in the wonderful Glucksman Riverside Restaurant it was out and about to put into practice what we had been covering in the morning.

Later, back in the gallery, I gave the participants one-to-one attention as they worked on the images they created.

What I love about these workshops is that we might all be in the same surroundings when we head out to shoot, but the range of different things we notice always strikes me. In fact, I was so surprised yesterday when Lar - one of the participants - noticed something in a photo of mine I had never noticed. And this was a photo I have looked at so many times. Nothing like fresh eyes!

I have to thank Tadhg in the Glucksman who makes everything so easy on the day for us. Also, am so pleased with the support from olloclip who so kindly have put up prizes for the best photos created on the day.

I demonstrated how these wonderful lens are used in the workshop and you can see one of my own shots taken with the macro lens below.

Really looking forward to my next workshop (also sponsored by - olloclip - that means more great prizes) at the Gallery of Photography Temple Bar on November 28th (check link in comments).

Thanks to all who made it such a fun day.

I am amazed at the details a mobile camera could capture.

This is the most prominent, busiest and popular side of Grand Canal. This part of the Rialto bridge is normally full of people all day long. Except if you go for sunrise/dawn; you will find the place for yourself. This evening was not an exception. As I had prior experience of what to expect, I went prepared and went early so that I have time to get the right spot and setup things properly. Setting up a tripod here is close to impossible. So I kept my little pocket tripod with me. It is a bit tough to setup, but it is pretty stable unlike most pocket tripods. It is ruggedly build solid aluminium and has a payload of 8 KG; which is very good for any DSLR. As long as there is a right base to set it up; it is good to go. So I took my time to set it up and then it was all about wait for the right moment to click.

Yet again the mobile photographers were real pain with people almost stretching their arm in front of the camera and even using flash to lit up Venice!!! I had to be very careful and kept the camera strap all the time on my neck as those super excited mobile photographers could anytime hit the camera to send it into the river. I wish there was no mobile camera invented and I wish we were still in the film world where photography was so hard that it was out of reach for most of the people. In modern world, specially with the mobile camera, serious photography is becoming more and more difficult. Specially at the popular places.

However; I am happy as long as people respect others. But unfortunately many mobile photographers have no respect of others and they are mostly unaware of photography. So probably they unknowingly put their arm in front of someone's long exposure without knowing that a camera can capture an image for several seconds. For them, it is just one click. At the same time, the flash is probably also unintentional as the mobiles are in auto and the flash triggers automatically. Many users of the mobile camera don't bother finding out how to switch that off.

Finally when I managed to capture one decent shot, I was super happy as I almost lost my hope. I immediately got out of there leaving rest of the people to fight with their mobile. It was a great relief.

At the end the image was all right and I did manage to capture some of the movements on the water. Even though I wanted a bit longer exposure. It was impossible in that circumstance. So I will content myself with this.

I have read a lot about Venice becoming over crowded. I can relate to it. I visited Venice few times with intervals of some years and indeed; this time I experienced the worse. Many tourists not respectful of the fragile situation of Venice. Throwing garbage all over the place. Throwing bottles into the water. It was a sad scene to experience in this amazing historic city. That is why I liked the dawn photography more. As I could enjoy the calmness with no one around and I could explore the corners at my own pace without any chaos.

Please have a look at my website www.avisekhphotography.com for all my recent works.

Have a nice weekend.

Hope you will enjoy the picture.

They are EVERYWHERE, if you are not aware of this then you must be living on a deserted island. Rooftops, traffic lights, above the doors, above the register, above anything basically (SAT), and in your doorbell. Yes for security that is the trojan horse it rides in on but where does it go? We (Flickr) are an army of mobile cameras gathering data from all corners of the world, streets, beaches, homes, back yards, schools, churches, organizations, all gathered on phones, cameras, and drones. Everything is pixelated sunrise to sunset. Just the thought for this summer night. SMILE you are on candid camera!!!

Shine your mighty rays upon me.

N.B:-The sunrays are really original. No photoshop! Hats off to my camera B-)

I have only done a crop and adjustments on contrast, exposure, curves etc. in photoshop.

My last upload was not that satisfactory as the previous ones. Hope that this pic will compromise that. :)

My Camera celebrated its first birthday yesterday. Hureeeyyy!!! :D

As the camera's birthday pic, I tried taking a shot of the camera mounted on the tripod with my mobile camera. But the result was not at all good. :(

Suddenly I thought of going out and make use of the morning light. Happy that it came out quite well as I expected.

He was given this place to practice before the big competition. In spite of the dusty conditions, and junk, and what amounts to a storage room with a piano, he still escaped to his own musical world.

Uploading for Worst Photo 2020. While I was in England in February to take care of my deceased husband's belongings, I attempted to take a good photo of the Harefield sign in the main park. Yet I didn't find a way to keep the trees out of the photo. When I came back to the states, I found a photo on Flickr from another photographer without the trees in the way! Of course, now I can't go back and sort out what angle would have been better...

I have plenty of bad photos of my favorite subject: cats, because my mobile camera doesn't compensate for essential tremor and energetic kitties won't stay still!!! Yet this is one of the photos taken in England when my mind was too occupied by my husband's death for me to think clearly. :-(

Found this Lady bird crawling on a dried bud while I was looking for flowers to click in a rose garden. Sometimes a moment just call you and if you don't respond well in time, it's gone.
