Out and about with nalamanpics last night, all thoughts of catching the full moon disappeared when it clouded over at sunset. So we set about snapping the artificial lights along Exmouth seafront instead.

Then to our surprise, our lunar friend found a gap in the clouds and decided to dominate the scene.

Would have been rude not to include it, so a quick change of position was called for. Always expect the unexpected I guess :~)

Early autumn seems to be the time that I come across these fellas. I love the antennae, it amazes me that they are so thin and long.

Mixed natural light and flash.

These series of 3 photos from this year's PDN Photo Plus Expo were shot on three different rolls of film, all horribly underexposed, and all pushed 1 stop in development. Processing handled by Miller's Professional Imaging.

Your choices of film stock are:

Ektar 100, Portra 400, and Portra 800

Can you guess which one is which? ^__^

A brief return to an old theme. Having found this lump of nicely banded rock lurking in an old camera bag pocket, it had to be my subject for testing focus-stacking on the Fuji X-H1.

The dying cherry tree which I presented one year ago, is still attracting xylophagous beetles and many other associated insects. This quietly sitting laddered longhorn beetle let me try to take wide angle shots.

Baker Bridge, Sandygate, Exeter, Devon.

Following on from the previous pic, as darkness fell, the clouds lifted and the lights on the bridge started to come up to full power.

It's strange how the dirty and run down look of the bridge changed as the lights came up, it now looked much better maintained, though a little odd with lights from one side only.

Just enough light still in the sky to be able to clearly see the silhouette of the upper reaches of the tower.

Thoughts were just turning to getting out the lights to do a bit of light painting, when everything changed, see the next pic below :

I was afraid that I wouldn't find a good facedown spot before the daylight fades away. Then I saw this sidewalk and it looked kind of nice. I managed to get kind of a nice balance between the daylight and the streetlights. The white balance is tricky with mixed light as always, but it kind of works.
